NBC is a step backwards

If nbc gold would add pit camera or stats laptimes something to the break screen it would be the cherry on top. Pit cam more sponsorship exposure plus seeing the teams working would be neat.

I think NBC is doing a much better job that Fox in the presentation of the sport. That preshow before Anaheim 1-telling the stories of rider-was awesome.

Like Dungey said "Its just a dirt bike race". I will not pay for NBC Gold, but I pay extra on Directv for the NBC sports channel so I can watch. I just DVR it and skip all the commercials and listen to classic rock on vinyl instead of the announcers BS when I watch it. I put the needle on the record for every race. wfo4ever style rocks!!!

I had to miss all the fs2 races because I only had fs1. Delay is better than nothing.

Nbs spots is taking more viewers AWAY. Me being one of them. 1st reason is bc I do have directv but only 1 box and I use that DTV account to sign into the apps on my Apple TV downstairs where I have watched all the races for years up untill today bc even though I have a directv account with the nbcsn it WILL NOT let me watch it in the nbcsn app without the gold membership. 2nd im in the military and gone a lot so thats how I have always watched them and that has came to an end. You can’t even stream it through DTV website like every other channel bc of the gold. Please explain to me why I need to pay for the same channel 2 times just to watch the race. It’s not happening sorry.

Does anyone have other “passes” on nbc gold? If so are they as dodgy and glitchy as the supercross one? I’d invest in the cycling pass and some others, have no issue buying things I like-but hate shit quality, and so far the stream is lo fi

90 dollars is a ripoff but NBC knows there are lots of suckers who will pay for it.
I probably paid $180 all year to get the stupid channel package spectrum made me buy to get fs1 and fs2. Not to mention $40 for the outdoors. $90 for 30 weeks is a great deal especially after cutting cable.

Honestly, I find it hilarious that anyone thinks that going from live on tv every single week to a delay is not in anyway a step back. It's not even defensible.

And yes, I'm subbed and stream it. The overall quality is also lower than what we got at Fox Sports.

I kind of agree tbh! I already pay $140 a month for dish service which I can't get rid of because the ol lady would kill me.. I went ahead and bought the 90 SX/MX package because I enjoy watching practice as well as watching the races live instead of watching tape delays. But I gotta be honest the NBC Gold is kinda ass! I have the best internet available in my area which is way more than enough so the quality as far as bandwidth is jsut fine on my end... The problem is NBC has the random hiccup with their streams... Just like tonight the stream cut out a couple times as well as the 3 different times where the shit just went completly silent, the audio just went to mute out of nowhere... The first time it took over 30 seconds for them to bring the audio back! That shit shouldn't be happening all the time on a service we are forced to pay to watch our sport live! Especially for a sport like supercross that needs help growing, this nbc shit does not help the sport grow. On top of that why the fuck can't I pause, rewind, or fast forward the shit? We use our Rokus to stream and that's the biggest joke that I cant pause to grab a beer, load a bowl, take a shit, rub one out watever the hell I might want to do between a moto??!?! Or maybe I want to rewind it to watch someone go over the bars and eat shit a couple times just like I can in my dish dvr?!?! And also wtf is up with the "commercial free action" that's complete bullshit, that's one of their selling points is commercial free, well yeah it's commercial free, when it fucking goes to commercial we are forced to sit and stare at a dead silent camera out in the middle of bfe where yoy can barely hear the in stadium announcer so you can't see or hear anything thats going on while the normal broadcast is on commercial break, tbh I'd rather watch commercials than the shit they do for our "commercial free action".... Not too mention the stream doesn't show Ralph n Ricky 1 single time the entire night, not 1 single track condition update during the race like you get watching on TV, no social media shit NOTHING! So yeah, I would agree with OP and say this is def a step backwards for our sport that is already struggling to grow here in the states!

I'll use this gold pass mainly just for MX season since it's literally impossible to watch all motos on TV because they don't broadcast all motos... But I can safely say I will never pay for the Gold Pass again unless they make the streams more engaging or more like watching it on TV. I almost fell asleep trying to watch the shit tonight on the stream for the first time... We were stuck staring at that pile of rocks out in BFE in dead silence for atleast 5-8 minutes every damn commercial break it really took away from the experience of watching the races! We ended up turning off the Roku and turning on the UFC fights instead untill our Dish's hour delay caught up to where we were on the gold stream and watched the last 2 motos on TV instead of NBCs stream. I will only be watching on the Roku again the few weeks I'm forced to when the races aren't on tv Saturday night.

I honestly thought that something had gone wrong during the first break. That bitch lasted at least 10min with no warning.

Let us just get this straight I bought the NBC SPORTS Gold app. The coverage to me feels like a few third graders grabbed their parents video cameras and started filming. The coverage leaves you feeling disconnect from the event. At one point the 250 class launch past the screen with out warning?? There is nothing gold about this. I agree this coverage is a step backwards.

I feel like there is more delay time than racing now days. There’s so much room for filler space on the gold package! I wish at least during the down time we can see what’s going on in the stadium or something, instead of dead quiet

Have a hard time figuring out why SX is delayed to make room for a car auction replay...
Not exactly like it's the Superbowl...

Am I the only one that watched 3 hours of racing on NBCS with no announcers? All you could hear is background and stadium noise. I actually enjoyed it but this thread started as NBC being a step backwards. Having no audio for 3 hours of racing is a huge step backwards.
As far as you guys paying for NBC gold, you fools empty your pockets and get what you deserve. For like 15 or more years we got for free what you are paying, practices, interviews, preshow,Jim Holly the whole works. That is a huge step backwards. There is no way you can rationalize that having to pay for something we used to get for free is a step forward. That has zero logic.

Yeah they could at least rotate through the camera's
Instead of just one
That had an obstructed view of the guys lining up on the gate, watching them line up would have at least been something to watch.
But also why not show the 50 race?
Do interviews, something, im sure they are thinking that to though and this is likely a learning curve and it wont be like this in the future, that would be my guess anyway.

Ya sure about that? Races would hit the East coast and I would be watching that shit from 10 AM till 3 PM, then the night show. Same with the nationals. I used to watch Bercy every year. I'd go out of my way to watch it. Not now, hell now it is barely a headline because you can't watch it for free. Like how many Bercy threads where there this year?... Next to none. When JS raced it and it was fee, this place had a melt down.
Other races include, the Nationals and MXDN. I was squeezed against my computer watching RC racing Everts on the 2 stroke, RC being chased by Townley, JS against Everts, RV at Budds, Dungey putting it to Cairoli to take the gold, Barcia tossing away in the sand.... All free and on the laptop.
