DB97, very sorry to hear about your engine failure!!! I hope we can all learn from your experience... I’m looking to install a Rekluse Core EXP in my 19 KX450. Can o ask why you had the clutch basket out? I thought with the Rekluse clutch you use the stock basket and Rekluse inner hub? Any help in avoiding a repeat failure would be very appreciated. Thanks and good luck... nice bike

Yeah I was just peeking in to make sure everything looked good and clean the basket a few specs of sand fell in. You can't tell with just the clutch cover off it will drop in but not on oil pump gear. You can see it perfectly with entire clutch side cover off. I'm going to take a picture to show everyone once I'm back to that point.

So as long as we don’t mess with and don’t remove the clutch basket, we should be safe just replacing the inner clutch hub...

I'm ordering all the parts today. Cp Carrillo hasn't made a rod and they have no eta. So basically going to be all oem with pc piston and possibly porting. Porting is pretty pricey and the cost is about 2k just for parts so we'll see.

Yeah I will but the engine is apart right now. Picking up the parts Monday or Tuesday and I'll build the bottom end and take a picture of the basket.

Hi I bought a new one not knowing that this was an issue I have emailed them so I’m waiting to hear back I definitely won’t be buying another as I live in Australia and these systems cost about $1,500 each. The other thing is I have to go order a new sub frame today so there’s more money ?

Both Pro Curcuit and Kawi have been replacing the pipe and sub frame. Fmf makes a bracket that keeps that from happening as well. I would try to get a hold of both companies it might save you some cash.

How come you didnt have them transfer over the HSC adjuster so that you had a restrictor in the body?

I know this is way late in the game for this post but I was waitng to get all things together and then life happened and got completely sidetracked. So for whoever is interested, here are a couple of picks of my KX450. Also are some pics of the subframe mod that's pretty much needed. The list of mods is in Bike Check

They make it steer better for sure but made them a bit harsher. Ride Engineering made a similar comment on their website. But easy enough to fix
