Spoke with money I never wanted to see

Edited Date/Time 11/10/2018 1:55pm
So today I bought my first new bike with some money I never wanted to see in my account,my inheritence from my mother who sadly lost her 4.5 year battle with cancer.
I realised lifes too short, so a small slice of the money has gone on this beauty,my FIRST ever new bike
KX450 2019

So as this will be my 1st 4 stroke, any tips on running it in?

Sorry to hear about your mother..

Congrats on the new bike though! A few heat cycles, then ride it easy for a few minutes, then ride her like you stole her. If she don't hold together now, she won't hold together later. Check all of your nuts and bolts before riding it. The front and rear fender bolts always seem to work loose on new bikes. Other than that, ENJOY!

Sorry about the loss of your mother. I lost my father last year to his third battle with cancer, it sucks and know what you are going through. I still have those same thoughts as you had as death puts things in perspective of living your life while you can!

Congrats on the new bike, enjoy it!

What a great tribute to your mom. You should take a few more dollars and maybe some graphics that mention her somewhere on them as a part of the new bike. As far as break in, some say a gentle lap around the track and done, others are a bit more picky (myself included) and do a few heat cycles. I do 1/4 throttle 20 mins, cool down, 1/2 throttle 20 mins, cool down, 3/4 throttle 20 mins, cool down, oil change and good to go. Sorry for your loss and congrats on the new steed.

Sorry for your loss and congrats on the new bike. If you wanted to represent her in the bike you could get a seat cover and make the ribs the color of the correlating cancer ribbon

Sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. How cool would that be to incorporate her in the graphic design though... I think that's an amazing idea.

Losing a parent is hard - sorry for your loss. You're right, life is short so enjoy it while you can. A new bike is a great way to do that! Hope you have many happy hours on that bike.

Truly sorry to hear of your mother's passing.
So many ways to honor her with the bike... do what you think she would have liked it to look like. Graphics, rims, riding gear, so many options ...

My mom just spent 2 1/2 months visiting and we talk every day. She's 80 now and yeah ... funny thing is she needed a walker for a while (more thst 5yrs) and I laid down the law to her and forced her (lovingly) to the med assistance store. She was mad at me because... you know ... "walkers are for OLD people Kevin ..." Blink
I reminded her ... YOU'RE FREAKIN 80 !! Woohoo Laughing
She loves her walker now by the way... Wink

Like other's have mentioned above , I'm really sorry to hear about your mom. But i do believe that in a situation like this , most mom's would want their son's ( or daughter's ) to have fun with that inheritance. And too me , that's exactly what your doing , and I bet it would of made her extremely happy. Congrat's on the new bike man!

As weird as it might sound, I’m sure your mother would enjoy knowing that you spent a little on something that would bring you joy. So sorry about your mother.
