Doesn't hit you until after practice right before/after riders meeting when the race order is posted and you are the third race but the 50cc class is the moto before yours so you are pretty sure you have enough time to take a dump but then feel awkward when you are in the can and the national anthem starts playing so you put your hand over your heart because you don't need any bad juju on race day

Called into work sick so you could make practice.

Driven a 1500$ truck with a 10,000$ bike in the back.

Gotten into an argument with family about why you cannot quit riding on your way to surgery.

Seen someone case a jump hard and decide "that one can wait till next weekend".

After deciding that one can wait , hit it anyway because you felt like your corner speed was there.

Tried to whip , instead hung your ass off the side of the seat.

Is it even motocross if you haven’t spent hours cleaning and prepping your bike, an hour driving to the track, half an hour in the sign on queue for 4 laps of practice and 3 ten minute motos.



Is it even Vet motocross if you don’t arrive in a $50000 van with a new looking bike in the back that has at a minimum: custom graphics, revalved suspension, a Ti pipe, some carbon “protection”, and a spare set of wheels?
(Then thank your lucky stars they won’t let you on the track when the 85s are out.)

(When I was young, I literally drove a $400 van, and raced a $1600 bike [yes, it was a long time ago]. I could never afford new tires front and back at the same time. I used to win races, and “off the podium” was “something wrong”.)
