Like GuyB said...take it in your vehicle....slam a few...go watch race...buy 1 or 2...go back to vehicle at intermission...slam some more....repeat. Like I said earlier...I'd hate to think I missed something epic while standing in line for the pisser. I can drink anytime...watching MXoN at Red Bud...once in a lifetime probably.

I don't mean to be negative, but YS is straight up a-holes to normal paying fans. I hope they don't do to you guys what they did at Budds Creek- rope off 80% of the track and create gnarly unsafe conditions by cramming thousands of people into small areas for the freaking TV cameras.
It was so nuts in the morning that I got separated from my GF because those a-holes tried cramming thousands of people through one tunnel. It got so bad that a state trooper lifted a banner and let us just walk across the track which you would do with a human being (since there were no bikes on the track). Then I got to listen to Guiseppe do his mafia boss speech over the PA while trying to see the start through a chink in the fence from about 1000 feet away through the people that crammed into the tiny area for the riff raff. He's a total asshole.
You had local parts counter guy sitting with about an acre per person while the paying fans were treated like cattle.
It was good racing but going to a YS event is an ordeal, because they don't give a shit about anything other than $$$$.

I haven't had a drink in almost 6 years, but back when I was still a functional alcoholic beers were like $9 at some of the supercross races I went to. No way in hell would I pay $9 then or $14 now for one friggin beer. That's just like my local Husky dealer charging a $400 setup fee. Price gouging like that should be avoided. F 'em

I chuckle at your comment as that is what was done in the early National years. Having attended RB nationals from 77 -2006 I witnessed the biggest adult beverage parties in the lower valley between 1985-1992. It was allowed to wheel barrow kegs to the lower valley infield. Dig holes and bury kegs with 2 feet of ice on Saturday. Races were on Sunday and beer was ice cold. 1988 was the premium year of huge keggers and stereos of Guns & Roses.
You had to watch walking to not trip over the tappers of 20-30 kegs burried. Just an old school moment of truth.

What about weed? Can we bring that in or will they have a tent set up? Oh wait, I forgot we're still living in the 1900's.

That's next-level and quite awesome! And I think I'd rather watch an '88 national than a 2018 one. Woohoo RJ, Ward, Lechien...yep!

I remember when Hangtown implemented this rule in 06 or 07. They lost about 7 of my friends who would attend annually, because we could bring in dead body coolers loaded full of beer. Now it's just my son and I every year. They only have a few beer stands and the line is almost always 30-40 people deep, with a 2 beer limit. It sucks but I get it. The last year my buddy tried to ride a loaded cooler down the steep ass hill by the tree turn before the drop off. He said if he yard sailed everyone watching could have whatever fell out......he made it down maybe 10 feet before the hillside was littered with Coors light and ice??. But he had the loudest cheers that day. even over the races. It was a simpler time.

Another example of how 4 strokes have ruined MX. You didn’t need to get shitfaced to enjoy moto

At least you can buy it there. Break open the piggy bank and have fun

Happens every year at the Bathurst races... our most famous car race down here, my home town. Was more rampant for the 24 hour too as people camp up on the hill. The shit we saw go on at night camping up there with Dad when we were kids, holy hell!

This, this right here is why the Nationals will always be better than supercross!Laughing It's so fun to watch people cut loose and gave some harmless fun, I don't understand why everyone has a stick up their ass now. I hear stories about back in the day just being able to pull your truck right up to the track and watch from the tailgate, I can't even imagine how cool that must have been.

Saturday nights before the Glen Helen National back in the late 90s/ early 2000s was the best ever. Bon fires, fights, strippers in the back of box vans, Sheriff helicopters. The good ol days

Soft drinks = sodas/energy drinks. Alcohol will still cost you money, although you will have a much shorter line.

I think everyone has an awesome Bathurst story holed up in their memory bank somewhere

Nowadays they've become a bit more responsible, only 1 case per person per day. So if you're there from Thursday through to Sunday you can only drink 96 full strength beers.

Only in Australia would 1 beer per hour for 4 days straight be deemed responsible service of alcohol. And people still smuggle spirits in on top of that hahaha

Just like the Summernats. Oh lord that place used to be off hook too. Got great stories from both, but that's for another time.

Drink all night, don't go to sleep, walk in pissed, then you wont feel bad when your paying $5 for a beer inside the trackCool

I snuck a flask in to Circuit of the America's for Formula 1 by putting it inside my fold out chair and then folding it up and putting it in the bag. You couldn't feel it doing a hand check. Did they make people take chairs out of bags at Matterly last year? I just bought $5 sodas all day and had a good time.

This works everytime, nevermind the shitty beer. Or whiskey in ice tea bottles and vodka in water bottles. Gotta few people with the iced tea bottle thinkin it was ice tea told em quick chase it with this water (vodka)! O, the good ol days...

In my drinking days I went to the Carlsbad GP and went home thinking Tony Distefano won on the #3 Suzuki when it was actually Gerrit Wolsink. Ever since that day I figured it’s best to go to important events without destroying so many brain cells I couldn’t remember what I watched.

People can bring beers to the parking lots and campgrounds, just not to the track area. They can make a run to their car or camper during intermission if they’d like!

Relax! Enjoy the event!
Tim Ritchie said exactly this in his interview with Rupert. He was working on securing a license for inside the track. Not camping. So yea. You'll have to buy beers from him inside the event.

Everyone who had a bag had to open it and empty it. I had a very little bag which I managed to fit 3 beers in. Still got searched as they split people with bags and without them. Ended up downing 3 beers at 9am, then spending about £65 on beers inside.

Taken from another thread, "We asked on The MotoXpod Show about wagons and he said "No." He said it is because people would ride them down the hills, lol."

At Matterley though the Dutch had a cart with speakers in which played music all day, looked a lot like a bar with cans in there hands.

Bummer! The buggy works awesome. I strap a cooler, radio and chairs to it. The side opens up and its like a mobile couch. Love that thing as much as my kids do!
