No red.
Having my Dad at the races always helped keep me calm. He never had any real advice about what to do on the track. But we would walk the track and just talk. He would do the same thing every time I headed for the gate. He would put his hand on top of my helmet look me in the eyes and say have fun and ride smart. When I was 18 I tried taking my girl to the track thinking I would impress her. No good I realized I didn't really want anyone else around before a race other than my Dad. I needed that reassurance when I headed for the gate and to know he was there if things went bad, or if things went good.

I also only get on from the left side of my bike because as a kid at a dealer I was warned about getting on the bike from the right side
I try to never think about how well I'm riding. Every time I think "hey, I'm doing pretty good, not tired at all yet", then boom, armpump kicks in. And whenever I think "I'm not doing too well right now", I just keep on making mistake after mistake.
I put everything on the right side first.
Keys on my dashboard when I park at the track.
Recently been wearing the same socks every day I ride(so washing them after riding).
“2 more moto’s, skip the last” works for me.
Can have some black on, but not mostly black.
I typically put my right boot on first but I think it's just habit. I do it with all shoes. And I'm left handed.
On the gate I will shake my goggles until I HAVE to put them on. I can't stand to have that speck of dirt floating in the goggles. It always finds its way into my eye if I have any in there. So I'd typically wrap my goggles in a paper towel after making sure they were clean and loaded. Then I wouldn't take that towel off until the gate was loaded and the card holder was in the track. I usually took four or five pairs of goggles to the track and only wore two. One per class. Don't mix them up.

Knee pad straps always have to go from the inside to out.
I’m also fanatical about tightening things. Boot straps are the worst, I like them really snug. Then if one feels tighter than the other, forget about it. But helmet strap is the same way. Gloves have to be as loose as they can go without coming undone, but I wear them a size down so they don’t slip around.
White boots. Has to be white boots, won’t wear anything else.
I could go on ? glad to hear I’m not alone.
And I hate when people tell me « be careful » before a race. And I hate when other riders talk about injuries.
left brace first
left boot first
never match gloves
and mostly wear red gloves
Also, I wear pink gloves because I seem to have better luck & ride faster/smoother when I do.
Do I actually think the pink gloves help? Yes. Yes I do... They also get me laid.
To the garage door checking guy - I do that too. Also have gone back to double check, and called home to make sure I closed it. I really need a camera that I can check on my phone.
Also used to incessantly check the fuel petcock when on the gate. Probably due to some dumb crashes when running out of gas.
