Pastrana's riding open, so I hope instead of his RM250 he'll go with the RMZilla. Open means open. Now as far as the MXGP class, RMac should be on at least a 300, Sipes on a Husky 250 for MX2. I'm not sure what the FIM rules are on 2 strokes anyways. Someone in the know should fill in the blanks.

Doesn't appear that the 500 is legal. It's not listed in the list of approved motorcycles. Looks like Pastrana will have to ride an RM 250 no older than 2010. MX2 is maximum 125cc. MXGP is 250cc.

Posted a link to the MXdN rules in my above post.

serious question tho, how can he ride a RM250 no older then 2010 when they stopped the model in 2009?
I believe Suzuki sold the RM 250 up until 2012 in Europe or Australia. They stopped selling the RM 250 in '08 in North America.

My guess is they'll allow Pastrana to race a late model '04 plus RM 250 since it's essentially the same bike.

As for Ronnie, I don't think he'll be able to race his current bike. He'll more than likely have to run a last generation CR 250.

Personally I think they'll take the race seriously. I'm sure off track they'll continue to be who they are but once the gate drops I don't think you'll see Ronnie doing boner airs and endo's every chance he gets. That's too risky with other riders around going race speed.

Already more attention on Team Pastrana than Team USA. It's working.............

I suspect the bikes will be modern bikes with Puerto Rico theme and colors so you wont even know the brand of bike. Pastrana is not going to come out on a yellow RM. It will be a Husky or something in Puerto Rico colors.

It’s a Great Cause.
However, it’s a Respectable & Prestigious event.
Whether or not this is Serious or not & even the 2stk thing may or may not be allowed, I feel they NEED TO LOOSE THE MAC.
The Mac is everyting the Sport doesn’t need.

From seeing Carrie's instagram stories it looks like Travis will be on a RM250.

Ricky seems to have the best, realistic handle on of what needs to happen. He's been there, done that. I hope they have some good fill ins because I see TP as "To Little, To Late" of a rider. Still, I have my MX of Nations VIP tickets in hand and can't wait for the 2 strokes in action. I recall, many moons ago of someone named Johnny O'Mara at the MX De Nations (1986?) hurting a lot of riders feelings on a 125.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK9QeLvnBxE

I don't care how they finish as long as they put forth thier best effort.
I'm over the initial outrage. If Ricky can keep this thing on the rails and it's for an obviously needed benefit...I'm more than cool with it. As stated...best effort is all that's asked. If "Ronnie Mac" tries that circus goon crap...I wouldn't have any heartache with Ricky stomping a mud hole in his ass. Now if this was a 5 lap exibition race where they just put on an act...that's 100% ok.

That was my take before it was announced.

I’m not trying to be a buzzkill, but I’d just as soon support R2R, who could really use the help.

Wrong. I grew up in two strokes and am excited to see them race again at a world class event. Would I like it better if Dungey, Villopoto and Andersen were on on the team on two strokes? You bet. Will Ronnie Mac do a boner air somewhere in front of the fans? You bet. I’m willing to just let these guys give their best effort and have a good time.

Meh, they'll probably end up in the "B" final. Remember they don't get to go out and do one heater to qualify, they need to race for it. FIM rules and all.

Taking a knee during the National anthem is disrespectful, but racing against your countrys team while representing a nother countrys flag is about the most disrespectful thing a rider can do. Now in this case we have 3 American riders racing to raise money for an US territory. They know that they will not qualify and have no chance of effecting the results of team USA and they will donate all money to a nation in need. I can support this cause.

If it we're jimmy, sipes and another legitimate current or recently retired rider they would have a shot. Pastrana will hold them back greatly imo. Honestly, Pastrana will be lucky to finish his race.

Not even close to that age, just think people need to get a grip and take things a bit lighter. Holy F... it is dirt bike racing.

No idea. If they have rules and dont enforce them. Whats the point. I want riders there that are prepared to race, not some circus side show.

It's reality man. I love Pastrana but let's be realistic here. He's not going to do any good at all. He will probably be around last place in his Moto. Jimmy and Sipes could be mid pack or better. I could see either of them taking 15-20th.

It's Pastrana ,has he ever ridden a bike and not done something fun to watch ?

the idea is cool for fund raising, using the stupidity that is ronnie Mac kills it somewhat,

if Ronnie Mac takes out someone during qualifying while acting the role, how will that countries fans, and federation feel about it?

Apparently some of the dolts here like the golf clap and NPR whispering dialogue. So as this sport is supposed to be taken seriously.

I'm going to the race so I can see the top 3 guy from each country race for the Chamberlain cup, not see something "fun" from Travis. Why don't we just make the MXdN the next zwarte cross. That would be "fun". I have no problem with Sipes, Pastrana, and ALBERTSON racing for Team Puerto Rico. The team having American riders has always been stupid. "Ronnie Mac" lining up on the gate is a disgrace to the event and other riders.

on purpose no, but its not beyond reason that it would happen, he crashed at straight rhythm,

the point is, its a side show to an event that a heap of countries spend shit loads of money getting to,

if they are racing and something happens, then it is racing. Obviously, the white trash, goon schtick is not accetable in the race itself.
