Where exactly is the "Ass end of Oklahoma". I'm an Okie and the only part of the state I haven't lived in is SE. I'm guessing SW or the panhandle? Probably not the panhandle though since you have internet and can read/writeSilly .

Its bulletproof and has good suspension. The DR D radiator lowering kit actually did help the turning. Mine seemed to push, but I think the fork springs may have also been a bit stiff for me. It was not as fast as my 05 CRF but it had nice power. Id take it over a 10-13 any day.

The Dr.D radiator lowering kit helps these bikes more than different clamp offsets, in my opinion. http://www.dubachracing.com/shop/radiator-lowering-kit/

FCR carb is very good once properly cleaned/inspected after all these years; easier to diagnose than any modern EFI dilemma...If it's as described, I say go for it.

@crc245, That’s because you are stuck in the way back Machine ?
You need to move up to the current century ⚡️⚡️⚡️ ?

Buy my YZF450 06 With 40 hours in 2008, it was from a man who bought it for his son and he did not use it, sometimes it is used for friend of the father, now has more than two hundred hours, good machine, I just had to adjust and remplace some parts in the carburetor and keep the suspensions well, I have already changed two pistons in total and change the exhaust silencer that was finally destroyed with almost 180 hours. I recommend using the Yamaha air filter is very good. And change Motul300W oil and oil filter every 15 hours. I still use the bike in local races, in the last race, two weeks ago I got the Holshot as seen in the picture !!

Dr D Pipe & jetting brought my 2008 YZ450F alive. Suspension works well for a 220lb rider with stock valving & heavier springs. I need to sell it and a TY350 to make room.

What in God's name did you do to your cylinder..?
Every year Motor, radiators and carb were pulled and went in a special cut frame that was used in the yearly motorcycle industry trade show. Instead of just black paint I used automotive motor Ceramic heat paint that dissipates additional heat. Workers very well.

I rode and raced a 09 kx450f for a long time and thought it was a decent bike. I decided I was done and got did of it.

Not long later I got the itch again and found a dirt cheap 07 yz450f and thought well its going to be a big downgrade from what I had but what the he'll.

It was cold when I looked at it and was a bear to start. Got it home and replaced the 42 pilot with a 48 and played with the fuel screw

God was I wrong about down grading. That bike did EVERYTHING better than the kx and felt 40lbs lighter. Even lifting it on and off the stand you could feel the difference. I hit the jetting dead nuts the first time with the 48 pilot and it never once stalled, flamed out or bogged ans started right up

Everyone complains about the cornering of these bikes and that's one area I'm super critical in. I seem to wash out more than anyone. The 07 yz was the best cornering bike ive ever ride. Suspension and power were stellar as well. I rode the piss out of it for a year with zero issues and all I did was oil air filter and checked the valves and they hadnt budged. I even hydro locked the bike once. Took it home, pulled the plug, kicked it over. Changed the plug, filters and oil and it started first kick and ran perfect. I cant say enougb good about the 06-09 yz450f

I bought an 07 450 back in 2010. It had been never been in the dirt. Dad bought for kid, bad grades, put up for 2 years. Added sticker kit, big front rotor, DR. D exhaust, cut out air filter screen, little carb work and a couple odds an ends. Nice bike, but did not turn very good.

I have an '08 frame I'll sell you if you want to improve the handling of your 06 or 07. I also have the shorter steering stem mounted w/ applied 24 offset triples. That's the only requirement for the change out and a National championship?

I had a 2008 YZ450F. I hated it (I was coming off a 2005 YZ250F), I didn't really give myself time to learn how to ride it, I just wanted to be pinned in 3rd/4th gear everywhere. I sold it to my buddy at the beginning of 2008 so that I could buy a new KX250F.

Bottom line is the bike is bulletproof. My buddy road that bike from 2008 - 2013 and only did one top end. Sold it for like 2k. Years later I had a 2009 and I rode it back to back with a 2011 YZ450F and I preferred the 2009...and would still prefer it to any of the newer gen Yamahas.
