From a resale standpoint and just overall bike updates standpoint why would you not go with the 19. To each their own.
Maybe they don’t like you??? I bought my 2017KX250F from them. It was 5699.00 and I paid 6100.00 when it was all said and done. That was with the engine warranty as well.

8100.00 for the bike, Pro Circuit pipe and silencer, Renthal sprockets, DID chain, Pro Circuit clutch cover, Weisco Piston, a set of Fox 360 riding gear, Shoei Helmet. The bike was 6100.00. I also snagged all the other stuff the day I bought the bike. Of course some of it had to be ordered, so I couldn’t take it all home that day. The post does say WITH the accessories. You can see the PC pipe etc....

The dealers around here in socal have the worst bs fees. My next bike will be an out of state bike.

Pretty short sighted in my opinion they should be throwing in gear and parts to protect resale and ultimately gives the consumer a bit more confidence to spend so much money on what a new bike costs

As for the question I’d buy that 18 all day long and just put some 08 KX450 spring forks in it they bolt straight in
It's not Kawasaki discounting them, it's the dealer. Dealers buy bikes just like car dealerships buy cars, and moto is not their main seller and in some cases basically zero. This is unfortunate, but reality. Manufacturers generally require dealers buy a certain number of motocross bikes and at some point they need to unload old inventory for cash flow etc etc.

I believe I paid about $5500 for my 1992 cr 250 when I bought it new.
Sold my last KX450 for $3500 less than my OTD price 3 years after purchase which seems quite fine to me. Loved the forks. Like the forks on my new one too. Few hours of research will do you wonders.

I am serious haha. I do not own one. But, my friend ‘17 Kawi 450 spends most of its time in my basement...and I have a descent amount of time on the bike.

I was in the same boat, couldn’t justify it so I picked up an 18 yesterday. Still have a set of forks laying around for it as well so that made it an easier decision.

It is Kawasaki discounting them. They're one of the best Manufacturers in terms of rebates. A dealer can take their invoice price, subtract the rebate from that and appear to break even or in most instances still make a little bit of coin. But chances are that if it is a previous year model you've been paying flooring on it for 10-12 months. The money you make on the sale will hopefully cover those costs for the previous 10-12 months you've been paying on interest. Oh, and you also have to pay your salesman out of that as well. But yeah, "killer deal bros" are the absolute worst.

Local dealer had a '18 RMZ450 for 5699 out the door (with a note saying $436 total for all other fees and taxes) and another dealership near by had '18 kx250fs for the same price. I've never seen new bikes go for so cheap, It's really hard not to get one.

I'd definitely hop on yellow next spring if I can find a '19 near that price. That's crazy cheap for a new 450.

I’ll answer that.... No, not even close. Although i picked up a 2018 FC250 a few months back and via negotiation got them to drop sticker and waive all fees minus the sales tax. So it’s possible but not without some savvy negotiating and a little luck sprinkled in for good measure.

That said, in fairness he’s prob looking at the same fees on the 19’ so if it were me, I’d pick up the 18’ and come back a year from now when the 19’ is marked way down and snag it.
