Forkner goes down

Edited Date/Time 7/9/2018 9:03pm
What does he need to do differently? He's so fast and talented but something always seems to happen to keep him from getting to the top. I'm not blaming Plessinger for the incident today, but Forkner was definitely faster than Plessinger and probably would have won the first moto. It's just a bummer especially after last weekend with Amart. He could definitely be there in the championship hunt if these 2 motos went differently

If he was faster than AP then AP wouldn’t have been anywhere near him coming out of that corner... just sayin

It’s a team Kawasaki thing. Ride over your head until you inevitably become a lawn dart

In forkners defense, most guys who took the inside didnt drift all the way out so he prob wasnt expecting aaron to do that. Cant even blame anyone, was just a racing incident.

Forkner will learn from his mistakes, this one was 100% on Forkner. Plessinger gave Forkner a choice, let off or crash.

Wasn’t much faster since AP was still there and made up all that time through the corner.

Racing is racing...but many here say otherwise and want safety zones.

he made an aggressively pass someone 2 corners before, don't go wide and open yourself up for the same pass back,

Well, if he doesn't do it somewhere along the line, then he is a fool. But to just do a take out for the sake of it may bite him too. Now if it was a racing incident, then so it goes.

I’m not a fan boy of him. He’s just got the shit end of the deal a couple weeks in a row( leaving the inside line open) . Karma sucks Ap might get some payback

I can’t think of a huge retaliatory move since RV put his tire in JLaws mouth.

Don’t see much, especially outdoors.

Ferrandus made pass late in Moto 2 same corner clear as day.
In this plus, I think Forkner slingshot out of the berm really fast, if they go into that corner side-by-side like that 10 times, they definitely don't crash 10 times

Looked like there was a berm off the wall that inside line was using.

In all these situations some guy like you always says "so and so has got payback coming! He's getting put in the cheap seats." And it never happens. Still waiting on Savatgy's payback on Zacho still waiting on Tomac's payback on Marv. You know why because though they are pissed in the moment these guys know its a racing situation and they left the door open. Unlike posters on forums who think every block pass is dirty and deserves karma

He was hauling but even entering that turn I thought "o that's a bad idea going outside just after passing AP". Didn't see that coming though!

He dove under his front wheel looking for contact. He obviously didnt know thaaat was gonna happen... since nobodys every really seen this happen before, but he was looking for contact and block passed his front wheel diving under it which is almost guaranteed to tip him over, just not usually lawn dart.

Being as how Austin just passed Aaron 2 corners before this, I was surprised he didn't just cover the insides until he knew he had enough of a gap to start using outsides again.

I can’t seem you grasp your logic here. Forkner had passed him two corners prior. Not much time to get away. Whereas AP was caught from 7 seconds down. Again, not faster?

He tried it a few corners earlier, and AP backed off, so no contact. Racecraft.

I’m not so sure that was a take out attempt. If you have been to red bud that corner is larger at the bottom than it appears on tv

I said he wasn’t much faster if AP made up that much time in one corner. Not that he wasn’t faster overall. At the point of them coming together, ap was the faster of the two, even if only for those few seconds. I want to know why he would even go outside that soon after passing AP? Stupid choice on AF’s part.

Edit: my opinion only. You may or may not agree and that’s fine.

Exactly, to me that was a race craft (lack of) or experience (lack of) issue on AF's part. He left the door open by taking the outside line. AP beat him to the spot and took his line away. Just a bad decision / racing incident.

I do think AF went for the takeout when he passed AP earlier. Turnabout was FairPlay in this instance.
