Denied entry because you signed up late. It’s instagram. He worded it slightly differently so that those pesky little things like fans and sponsors don’t think he’s a dork. It’s ok. He made a mistake. He worded it with the blow softened a bit on his social media page. Lay off the kid.

National Number...Should never be turned away!
That's probably true. If JS7 or RD5 signed up late they would turn them away?
I'll take "Two Things That Aren't Going To Happen" for $100, Alex.

Quite a few guys signed up that shouldnt be, while Bobby Piazza and Jerry Robin should be. There should be some vetting of the entry list that could potentially bump out a guy who never scored a national point in exchange for a guy like Bobby P who is scoring points.

So we should make specials rules accommodating those who don't want to follow the ones already in place?

How about fixing the rules that allow a 35-40 year old local guy with a pro card from 1998 that is 15-20 seconds off qualifying speed in over a capable competitor?

They would never show up late, and even if they did..I'm sure they wouldn't be denied. People are coming to the races just to see the their favorite riders. No offense, but not many people are traveling across a few states or taking a few days off to watch a privateer.

If you want to be a Pro, act like one.
You nailed it with this analogy.

"Quite a few guys signed up that shouldnt be" Elaborate on this please???

So, if a rookie wants to make his pro debut, and he signs up and is entered to race - he should get the bumped from the race just because someone who already races but was late to sign up decides he wants to race???? You're entitled to your opinion, and so am I, and mine is that yours is totally bogus haha Wink

Really? Why can't they just sign up on time? A pro license is a pro license.

Many fantasy owners just breathed a sigh of relief over the painstaking temptation to pick him.

The young ones should learn from him as he is racing and they are not LOLOL. You just need to follow the rules and your life will go much smoother it's that simple.

Why is this even a discussion? Yeah I clicked on it and read it because the way it was worded sounded like he was stopped and the gate and thrown out.

What it should have read is " Hey look I'm a dumb ass and waited to long to enter"

Nothing to see here.

Making cool vids, showing how you rip. Then don’t signup in time...

My 12 year old kid handed in his project late, it didn't get graded and he has learned a lesson and realizes he has nothing to complain about.

It's really quite simple, all those coming up with "what about" theories are enabling this crap.

I bet all you "what abouters " would be the first to complain your paycheck didn't hit the bank a day after it was supposed to lol

Because some thinks it easier to make excuses and point fingers than being responsible. . Lol. Ask Tickle or Clason.

Maybe I missed it. Where did he call anyone an asshole? Look's like he realizes that it's on him for signing up late.

Do they have to pay entry if they sign up? Imagine for privateers, they don't always know weeks ahead that they'll be 100% able to make it, so try to save some $$.

I procrastinate on plane tickets all the time because I'm worried something will come up. I get it.

Given the number of riders posting surprised by this, you'd have to assume it's exceedingly rare.

The real story is having too many entries...

That's a good thing.

Didn’t mean to start a shit storm but I had just never heard of an excess of entries. Us common folk drive to the race, sign up and do our thing the day of. Jerry’s post wasn’t finger pointing or name calling.

Why is everyone making a big deal? He said he couldn't race because he signed up late and there were too many entries. He wasn't even complaining...

Except he didn't call anyone an asshole. So not the same at all.

If I was a pro and had a shot at riding a National and got bumped because some dude “should” off got entry but was outside of the entry rules, I’d be pissed!!!

Should have entered on time. End of story.

Why even offer Friday "Post Entry" if it isn't a viable option ?
What would it hurt to have two more guys in timed practice ?
Cannot help but wonder if the rules might just mysteriously change if the rider who forgot to signup was McElrath, Sexton, or Joey Savagty?

He should have signed up in time, but by God, a two digit rider should never be denied.

?

Based on that rule:
1. Has Jerry scored any points yet this year?
2. Did Jerry finish in the top 45 of either class of the nationals last year?
3. If no on 2. did Jerry finish in the top of any class of Supercross last year?
4. If no to all of the above, then he gets seeded after all riders who meet any of the above criterial based on earning points in last years nationals. And I’m going to have to assume that at this point it’s first come first derived.
