Sounds like he was too much of a mama's boy.

Here a nice little thing to think about. There is more people in this world whom have taken pain pills and not gotten addicted, then those that have. So prove its the pills or the Dr. that prescribes the pills fault and not the users. Is it a mental issue that some people are born with? Maybe, but then again there is a good amount of people whom have beaten addiction, even after years of abuse, so how can you explain that if its just a "disease".

Fact is its the user's choice. It sucks to hear and see, but for me its hard to feel sympathy for. I watched my bro get drugged out of his mind with Oxy when he hurt himself and was at the ER for a few weeks. Yet, he hasn't taken a pill since he got out of physical therapy (almost a year now). My father was also prescribed some heavy pain killers (cant remember exactly what they were) when he broke his back and a separate time when he completely destroyed his shoulder, yet never had an issue throwing the pills out after a few weeks. Personally, I havent taken anything stronger then some high strength Tylenol (no major injuries so far and hopefully never) so i cant completely say I know what its like, but again look around. There are tons of everyday people that have had extreme injuries at all different ages and been prescribed pain killers that never had issues with addiction. Btw, I do have family members that are/were drug addicts as well, so dont think that I feel this way simply because no one in my family has had an addiction.

I feel horrible for his kid and hope that he/she can learn from his mistakes and make better decisions.
Another person who needs a reading comprehension class.

He’s always getting shit for deleting/dungeoning so maybe he’s letting this one ride for a change. I know it’s gossipy garbage but hey, if it makes one Vital member who is on Opiates (and believe me....there r many here on Opitates) have second thoughts on popping a few more pills today by seeing the train wreck that is Izzi then it is well worth leaving it up

My sons been off/on Opiates for the past 20 years and is currently doing his first prison sentence because of them. He has
lost maybe 7-8 of his friends over the years, all of them Moto heads from So Cal and it still hasn’t helped him kick it. I sure don’t know the answer to the problem

"Its Corporate America's fault. The rich made these pills so the poor would stay poor and the rich could get richer. We are to blame, not him, for him stealing from his friends and not taking care of his kid, using illegal drugs etc. Its your fault."

"We need to tax the working people more so he can have free medical. Then he can get them drugs for free and he won't be stealing from friends anymore ". I think Bernie Sanders was right all this time. Who knew.

Yep, some people are wired and/or put in certain circumstances that may lead them to be predisposed for drug addiction. Crazy, but true. Again, I've mentioned this to you... look up neurotransmitters and their receptors for a better idea about how drug addiction works.

That's the name of the game. I pass out narcotics all day at work and some people love them, for some it upsets their stomach, and for some it doesn't do anything for them.

Why??? Nico is gunna Nico either way, no matter what, until HE is finally sick and tired of being sick and tired. Threads like this can only help someone by influencing them to not go down this path. Threads like this certainly aren't hurting anyone; as those people have already done that to themselves.

For all the young people who don't know; just because you get hurt and get prescribed opiates, that doesn't mean you're screwed for life and are an addict. I'v had multiple serious injuries and surgeries and been prescribed opiates. Here's how it works: you take the pills after surgery for a few weeks when the pain is heavy. Then when you start to heal and the pain levels go down, you gradually stop taking the pills. When you detox form the opiates, you'll feel weird and maybe sick for a while. Maybe a week or two. But you will get back to normal. Just give it time, it's not that bad. Sack up.

Think that’s why it’s up? Not really. I spent yesterday wrenching on the podcast before it went live.

Today I drove from VA to CT. About 12 hours.

The funny part is that she actually seems to have a job as a ''Recovery coach'' at a Rehab clinic Laughing Yes, I stalked her FB. She's a hottie though. He better be blessed.
She does, and she is a very well respected one in the community. She’s an amazing person with a huge heart, and she fell in love with the wrong guy when he was at his best. She helped get him off heroin and get back into the sport. He was doing great, but with addiction comes relapse. They went through hell through her divorce (the marriage was over before he even got there). She is in more long term recovery and was able to stay sober, Nico wasn’t sober nearly as long and struggled to keep afloat. He helped her get through the divorce sober in return for all the help she gave him. They fell in love, and man did she love him. She even took the fall for his pot when he put it in their suitcase when they went to Miami. Clearly she wouldn’t still be a recovery coach and employed if she didnt test clean. She helped him every way she possibly could, eventually the stress got to him and he relapsed. And unfortunately this is what the result of the relapse. Nico isn’t like this when he’s sober and she knows it. Her reason for putting this on Facebook is to 1. Clear her name, and 2.help him to finnnnnallly hit his bottom, and if he doesn’t I’m sure she will be gone. She smarter than that.

Most will disagree with me, but I feel sorry for the guy. It's not like he woke up one morning and said hey I think I will get addicted to painkillers today and turn it into a heroin addiction.

The poor kid was forced into riding when he wasn't ready and was fed pain pills to get them back on the bike, there's plenty of blame to go around in this kid's case. Not every manager is the hero everybody makes them out to be.
Agreed the whole deal is sad. She helped him of heroin, and he is still sober from that. He relapses
D on alcohol and this was the result. He did amazing work with her this past year, and she loves him for the person he is at his best. Sober Nico doesn’t do stuff like this. If anything people take this as a lesson, drug addiction takes no prisoners and will make you do things that you never thought you were capable of. Get help if you starting down the path. It’s not worth having something like this on your conscious. I know them both very well and when both at their best in recovery they are a power couple.

I didn't say there can't be a simple solution. I specifically said its ignorant (uneducated) to say that prescription drug addiction is "users choice". Just to clarify.
I stated my opinion on this topic and gave a brief explanation of the reasoning behind my opinion. I have spoken to several different professionals within this topic as it has always interested me how someone could let themselves be controlled by a drug. Some totally agree with my opinion, some don't at all. Its a fairly even split from the people I've talked to, as well as the world apparently (hence why its such a "prominent issue" everywhere, no one can agree on it). For me, stats don't lie, and more people are able to not get addicted then do get addicted and some people that do get addicted are able to overcome it. That fact, to me, helps validate my opinion and why I still believe it to be true. You are free to believe whatever you want, but to call my opinion ignorant is way off. In fact, you calling it ignorant is ignorant of you.

This is the weirdest forum I've ever seen. Pretty sure I'll never post here again. It's pointless how this has all been moved around and chopped up for no real reason other than some people seem to be triggered by it. No matter what anyone says, this is Pro MX news, albeit ugly, it is relevant. And it was all public information. Attacking each other and half-ass sensoring the discussion makes this whole forum pretty much a joke.
