I am an immediate fan and will follow him from now on.

It is a really big performance to beat RV even for 1 moto, not so many riders can say that. Also, RV didn't retire 20 years ago, the pace didn't change that much in the meantime, so I really believe the kid would be competitive against current pros. The format too is helping to have a good picture as it is not really on fitness, which could bother former pros. Last but not least, his previous results are important but not key: racing on a professional track is a different animal, it is rougher, wider, here he adapted quick so I think and hope he will have a great future.

In all cases, that is pretty cool to see the US amateur scene is right now bringing up many really promising talents, I feel a good wave is coming up so I believe a lot will be pros and upfront within 5 years.

Scroll down a bit. I posted the Villopoto and Pingree one as well. I rarely watch helmet cam video's but just had to watch those.

Why? 2 strokes, that's why.

Looking forward to the other races.

The best 125cc kids should come over to Europe and race one season EMX125. I notice that schoolboy class isn't getting that attention that it should get and if you put those kids out their environment to live in Spain for 6 months or in France/Belgium/Holland they will learn so much, more then in those few big Amateur Nationals like JS7, Loretta, Ponca... And most are home schooled anyway so that can't be a problem.

RV isn't in top shape. He said he was winded after 2 laps in that race.

If his performance in this class were to help him out long term, isn’t that a bit of insight on what’s to come with future interest of young riders racing this class?

Wow
in that video his laptimes were around 2:25 - 26
I'm not sure when the 125 race was, so the track state might play a role but a 2:25 is pretty damn fast.
In the 250 class that would put him just outside the top10 (these guys had a longer moto though, but still impressive)

Video from when he won the 2013 Jr World championship... after his win, he then got invited to the KTM factory in Austria and shown around

I think he was a little be overawed by it, but I know he's trying to win the 125cc Jr World Championship in Australia this year and if you want to help out.... go buy a t-short and support him:

At 5.19, finishing 6th is Rene Hofer who is also a KTM protégé currently waxing the 125 EMX Championship.

That means the class was competitive ! It is crazy to see that most of the skills, speed, are developed so early.

Anyone know Tijero's and/or RV's lap times at Hangtown. Curious where they would stack up against the 250s.
