East Coast Deal on KX450s

Hi all, I've decided that I want to purchase a new KX450. I have heard there's a dealer in West Virginia with prices significantly lower than everybody else. Does anyone know the name of this dealer?

Mountain Motorsports advertises on CycleTrader, and their price was $5380. I called the salesman, and he said additional fees added up to between $65 & $6700. Still not bad for a brand new bike, just not really in my price range.

A friend told me that if I buy the bike out of state, I can get around paying sales tax.. any validity to that? I'm a Georgia resident. Thanks.
Sorry for posting on a subject that has been discussed a few times. I tried the search feature, but I couldn't find the info I am looking for.

Ridersville is where I always see the crazy low prices. And yes, no sales tax for out of state residents.

I always pay cash out of state. No tax. A local dealer in NY was advertising 18’s for 5999. Should be able to get otd out if state cash buyer for sub 6k. 19’s all new but I don’t see the prices getting any lower than now.

Pretty sure you just get a certificate of origin if buying out of state.

Sport Cycles in Rockinham NC usually has a great deal on them. Be careful with the paying no tax out of state deal. I bought a new CRF450R in Ohio in 2014, i got hit will a tax bill, penalty, and interest almost 3 years to the day. I heard that NC and SC auditing is top notch, and i also heard from that particular shop it happens more frequently on Yamaha and Hondas due to their registered warranties leaving a paper trail. I bought a new KTM in Tennessee last year so I'm praying it doesn't happen again.

Some states, in fact most require listing all tax exempt sales and there is a form for cars, motorcycles, ect. The form is sent to the tax commission and they report the sale to the buyers state. We tell the customers up front that our state requires this form and they have to sign. We don't collect the sales tax but when they sign that form it in essence says that the customer agree's to pay sales tax in their home state.

You just get an MSO from the dealer and go on your way. Titles are worthless anyways you cant register them. The MSO is every bit as good as a title for proof of ownership. PA/VT/Ohio, i've purchased bikes new in all 3 from dealers as a NY resident.

Disclaimer: Ronnies in VT "delivers" the bike to you down the raod from their shop about 1 mile so that its legally "delivered in NY". Troy city garage charges you like 200$ or something to put it in a pick up and drive it to vermont 10 miles so that they can say it was delivered out of state hence the no sales tax.
