I think that if this is their best effort, they need to just get out of the MX/SX/ATV gaming industry. I haven't played it and don't plan to, but by the looks of the game-play it is horrible just like the last few they've put out.

The only reason I prob even get the game is because I enjoy the slot camera and Supercross looks decent (though, again, too wide.) The MX looks horrible, I don't care for free riding, free style, UTVS, quads or Tag and Infection. I love SX and MX. This game, honestly, looks to pale in every comparison to MES. I am glad I have MES and super happy with it. All Out will prob be just for an occasional play.

Still pretty bummed at what All Out is looking like, though. I really thought they would step it up but I think this is about what they have to offer. Again, I haven't played so I can't say for sure but we'll see next week.

Kellen's tutorial should help some though as he has it looking somewhat decent. The whips, that is. Everything else looks mediocre to poor, sadly. Hope it helps. I think his whips and scrubs look really good so for those who are all about that kinda stuff, here ya go.

Kellen is cool. He digs and and tries to enjoy all MX games. He plays Sim, MES and MVA and always does great videos for all. Great follow if you haven't done so.

Thanks to Mike I was able to try it out last night and really didn't care for it at all. The only reason I would be it is for the free riding and trying to get down how to whip. The whips have potential once you get it figured out, but the rest is pretty bad. Turning sucked, right stick sucks. I'll wait for some patches to come out and the price to drop before I buy it, if I buy it.

I hate the physics on this game. The turning is terrible and the air physics are awful. I just don’t get why they would make the game harder when they said they were making it appeal to the masses. If they wanted to do that they should have made it one stick and like MX Unleashed.
I know this has the ability to use one stick but the turning is terrible. I am so used to hitting the break in the air, in real life and on video games, and I keep doing half a front flip and smashing into the ground. I hope they fix the physics with a patch. Right now this game reminds me of ATV Off-road Furry 3. (I know Rainbow didn’t do this game). I played all the Rainbow games before this game came out and I would much rather play Motocross Madness 1 and all the other games over this.

With most of the early impressions being less than stellar it brings the question of why they don't use the old Reflex code. I posted this in the other thread about All Out someone recently just started. It sorta answers some questions but raises plenty more. And also maybe explains some of my frustration with this company. Here it is:

(In regards to the question of the Reflex code being developed by a third party developer and then being lost once THQ shut Rainbow down.)

I know more about this than most of you honestly just due to literally over a hundred emails with one of the main people at Nordic. So check it out.

He said there are some things that have been floating around about the Reflex code being lost that are not necessarily true, despite their own team saying as much.

So really, who knows. I thought that was really odd. But I don't get not using it if it's still legitly intact. There was chaos and they got shut down with little to no preparation time.

However, the company makes weird decisions so I have no clue. Some say the code is gone forever but 1 says it really isn't. And that 1 was the

All I know is the Alive code was intact when the new company was assembled and took over. You see it in the very first build of Supercross where you see it still being called Alive Tournament which was to be Alives SX DLC. Thats the Cue/Webb video. Search for it. So the Alive code was, well, alive and well. And Alive is far superior to anything they've done with maybe the exception being Reflex.

They opted to F the track width up when it was perfect and bring in turbo boost and push up preload.

That has nothing to do with losing a code due to chaos of being shut down quickly. That is just a bad decision.

Hence some of my frustrations toward them. Design choices.
Over the years, I just don't trust these guys anymore. Especially with the code being lost story. Sounds like a bunch of crap to me. But I don't know, I wasn't there. To me, the only reason mx vs atv supercross was decent was because they built off of the alive code. Now here we are with all out and its supposedly a game they built from the ground up. And it really shows. They go through testing and play these games. I would he embarrassed releasing this shit.

I've enjoyed many aspects of past rainbow games and really looked forward to All Out. I'm about 3 hours of game play in and overall my opinion is not awesome. It truly seems like it could be good but every aspect is off by a click or two. Handling, scale, speed, flow, graphics, fps, controls, all need tweaking. It seems like they took all the best aspects from past games and put them together, the problem is that they don't work with any cohesiveness and it's frustrating. Not sure they are going to get there with patches. But I believe MXGP3 changed alot in their very first patch so we will see if Rainbow can pull it off.

One thing I find frustrating with this team is this. So, All Out was built on a new engine and built, we were told, from the ground up. Then why does it look like an amalgamation of Unleashed and Untamed? Both are which 10-14 years old?

They had a full 2 year complete build cycle. This should be an all new game, not a hodgepodge of different elements that are over a decade old. That is lazy development, pure and simple.

I'm not sure the of the technical programming end of it, I'm more speaking on how it feels. It has these elements of feel from Unleashed, Reflex, Untamed... It's wonky just wonky! Could be pretty awesome I think but that doesn't sell games. So frustrating.

The ALIVE code is ALIVE and well in this game. I found it playable once I switched to manual transmission. It's weird, on auto tranny the turning feels like MVA untamed, on manual it feels like alive. I would love to see them scrap all their old physics from previous games and start fresh. All out is funner the more you get the hang of it

I guess it allows you to hit the revlimiter in the air? Thats one thing i hate, the uprev i sooo slow, and when im on MANUAL transmission, my bike still keeps up and downshifting? Frustrating as hell.

Have you tried reaching and stopping on the platform on the flying moto ranch?

Guys go into tuning and turn down the tires to like inbetween the first and second bar. It takes away the on rails like gameplay and allows you to slide like in reflex

If you change it to manual is like a normal gas gyro if you hold gas on in air it brings front end up

You have to actually do Rythems at least you can’t come up short and lean back like MES and just go through like whoops
3/24/2018 4:06pm
If anybody is interested I was able to get a refund by chatting online with Microsoft. I really wanted to enjoy this game but $50 is a lot to spend on something that is broken. What put me over the edge was seeing how the water is just for looks on the tracks... no splashes or anything. Mobile games run better. I also played reflex for 5 minutes just to compare graphics. IMO a 2009 game looks way better than the 2018 game. It’s reallg unfortunate because I was really rooting for these guys to do a good job. I just can’t support a product that is broken.

I love the way it flows when you hit the rhythm good on a sx track. Im playing now, gonna play with the bike setup to see if it makes it better.

Been trying for 2 days quick searching online games. Broken servers here too. This unreal engine thing is going like shit for these two games but indie games like rocket league feel like AAA titles just because they work correctly.

I slid the traction bar down really far and it made it 10x better. Ive actually started to jive with the controls and physics finally after a good couple of painstaking hours. I still think the sticks are too sensitive. If the stick sensitivity could be lessened and all the glitches fixed then i think we have a pretty good game. Its as glitchy as MES when it was released.
