Might be something to consider for the people that still think the GPs have 20 riders on the gates.

Just kidding, I have no idea honestly. But I do know that there would be more than 40 guys lining up this weekend if they would allow it.
And if your favourite rider crashes out or DNF's then tough shit. Go to the LCQ like in EMX.
I think last year he passed up the ( 2?- he won the 150F class twice, if I recall correctly) Honda backed EMX250 rides for the Suzuki 125. It seemed so bizzare. I know he is (was? - has he 'sprouted' and become the usual giant Scandinavian?) a tiny little bloke, but seemingly walking away from what looked like a hell of a deal(s), was strange.
I think MBR here was a backer of his. I'd like to see a Fast Finn out there winning, and Emil looked to be a great prospect to be just that for the future.
I'm caught up with a mates wedding this entire weekend, so will be playing catch up Monday on Valkenswaard.
Trying to make it personal? For what?
Wierd!
Simpson, Anstie and Searle have their names written all over this
Pit Row
I've been to Valkenswaard several times, as well as many other GPs. Valkenswaard could handle plenty of rain normally, but if it's (the ground base) currently frozen a few inches down, it will be a bloody nightmare. And / or worse if the temperature drops / or it snows.
Fear and Loathing, I reckon.
Either way, it's going to be Real Motocross, not some plowed and pampered chocolate cake course, or overgrown , vicious BMX track.
Is he still a little bloke?
And, has / have the Honda 'prize(s) been lost / abandoned forever?
With your being a GP rider in the past, could you shed some light on the Entry fees for riders charged in your times, with comparison to what's charged now?
I suspect it might be pretty bloody expensive today, even when compared in 'real' terms.
I don't know the exact amount, but I think I've seen it being well, well over a Thousand Euros to enter an MX2 / MXGP now. Except when Luongo feels the need to get riders out there (Overseas rounds) and he / Youthstream 'massage' the entry fees.
No start money - though I'm not sure if that happened with GPs - maybe just Internationals / other big races - and, certainly, No prize payout now.
Were Top Ten (or some other number) riders given a 'protected' status in GPs years ago?
I've never really seen the entry fees for the various EMX classes - I'd bet they are not low.
Just questions I've gone really 'fuzzy' on as I get older.
Back in the eighties you were paid 700 Swiss francs start money if you qualified at GPs, nothing if you didn't. Plus prize money for each moto on top of that - back to 25th place in each moto.
Top eight in points didn't have to qualify.
Entry fees in EMX, I believe, are €300.
Gonna be a great weekend to watch some racing here. Brutal work week , crappy outside , bring on the moto's!
He got a 3rd at the Dutch Masters last week, but in the interview after the race he sounded like a guy who doesnt have confidence right now/is fed up with issues.
Important year for him, KTM contract ends at the end of this year.
It is freezing cold, windy and still snowing.
And I believe (and hope) the Honda Cup is done forever.
But, there were certainly some very real benefits for the Riders, Parents and Teams that participated in it.
Emil Weckman won that Championship , at least once, and I think twice.
The 'Prize' for winning it was a years support on an EMX250 Honda Team - a heck of a thing to not take up.
I knew he was a tiny little bloke, and it's been confirmed he still is, so a(nother) 125 campaign is entirely logical.
But, does anyone know if he still has the opportunity to step into the EMX250 Honda 'prize', when he leaves the 125s, or has he lost that ride?
