Milestone - Monster Energy Supercross The Official Video Game

My only complaint is the tuff blocks. You just can’t knock them over, and sometimes I get stuck behind them.

Other than that it’s really enjoyable. I was on the fence but glad I bought it.

Also, I reached max level with 2 single races and 1 career race so that’s kinda pointless.

Checkout yellow jacket wireless. 4g unlimited internet. It’s what I had when I lived in the boonies. Typically average 60-120ms ping and could play online. $140 a month but hey it’s good internet if you live in the boonies

Why can't I mod my 250F? When I go into "Customize Bikes" it only lets me mod the 450. Not that I'm needing any mods. I'm smoking everyone with all settings maxed-out except Chase Braden. Really liking the games so far, but I hope there's going to be an active online presence for PC, because I can see the AI isn't going to be up to the challenge.

Also, I see the console guys are having the same issues with the game getting stuck in the career menu. I keep having to close the game and restarting it between races. Hopefully, there's a patch coming to fix that and some of the sound issues.

Otherwise, I think the game is pretty damned good.
I played PC online for a few hours last night and had a blast. The first turn is an insane place to be in a multiplayer race...

How do you guys do a holeshot with manual transmission? Is it possible to get the start? I can't see what gear I'm in until the gate drops. I couldn't do manual in mxgp3, but in supercross the manual tranny makes the game so much better.

Is anyone having problems with auto pilot during qualifying? Auto pilot keeps going until you start your first lap and you end up casing the shit out of the finish line jump so your first lap is trash

In MXGP 1 you had to shift up as soon as the gate drops. That's what I have been doing bc everything else I do gets me a super slow start. Clutch is garbage.

This is incredibly stupid, but from what I was told, and it appears to be correct, you have to shift into gear as the gate drops. So just hold it wide open and when the gate drops, shift into first. I love the game thus far, but I don't know how you fuck up the starts that bad. It is possible to get the bike in first and use the clutch, but it takes off so slowly that it isn't viable.

If you're on Steam, send me a friend request. "The Doc" is my in-game user name. I think my Steam account user name is doctorjd322.

As far as first-turn madness, they should "ghost" everyone until after the first turn, and then initiate collision.

Also the game lags pretty badly on the start and first turn, but you can’t optimize the video settings (atleast on xb1) which is a bummer.

As much as I like Milestone MX games, I can't for the life of me figure out why they put so little effort into start mechanics. One of the most crucial parts of a race seems to be a mere afterthought for the devs.

I'd defiantly do that if possible but I live in a valley with no cell service even tried a network extender they have high speed like 1 1/2 miles away but won't bring it my way I'd have to pay to have them run it to me they quoted my buddy $7500 for a little under 1/2 mile

I felt that way at the beginning of the evening, but then the chaos really grew on me. If I got a great jump, I'd go for the holeshot and sometimes get cleaned out and sometimes make it through clean. If I was in the pack, I'd hit the brakes and let everyone else smash into each other and fly off the track.

I know I'm known as the Monster Energy Supercross game fanboy around here and I try to remain level headed about it. But dammit, I'm just going to say it.

MES is friggin awesome and is VASTLY superior to anything we have ever been offered in a SX or MX game. Not even close. Milestone has given us so much more in their first attempt at SX than we have ever had. I often think people forget that we've never got this level of detail and content in a console SX game. Not even remotely close!

Fully licensed and full authenticity, real riders, perfect looking replica bikes and gear, replica tracks and stadiums, proper scale, 22 riders on gate, proper speed, proper shifting, great cameras including a great 3rd and 1st person view, separate braking, a need for throttle control and brakes. Plus qualifying, heats, semis, lcqs, mains, full points series, career mode, full customization, replays, bike tuning that matters, freaking track editor with the ability to run a champ series incorporating your custom tracks with the official ones,, no exaggeration in jumps, speed and scale, decent competitive AI, a beautiful and detailed look to every rider, bike and track and fun yet pretty realistic ganeplay with believable physics and superb ground physics and decent air physics..

The game is not perfect and yeah they need to fix the glitches...though I've experienced only 1 thus far...and I have a small list of improvements but it is, in my opinion, THE best SX game ever by a long shot. And I feel I can say that confidently after a few hours of play.

MES fanboy or not....this game absolutely rocks and destroys what we have previously got in our sport, game wise. Just my opinion, though.

I'm also super pumped most are loving the game. I was a bit worried it would be a little more arcade than their previous MX games but I think it feels right much more realistic than MXGP...which is great! Exceeding my very high expectations. Smile

Can't wait to be done tracking and spend time with Wife and get to play some more tonight!!

I had the same AI problems.

Another thing I noticed was that if you wreck a few times and have trouble moving up to the front by the halfway point of the race, the AI turns it on and actually become hard to beat for the 2nd half of the race.
I am wondering if the more you race and the game gets your lap times if the AI becomes harder?

Anyone put many hours in it already that can answer this. Only got about two hours in last night before I forced myself to bed so I wouldn't be a zombie at work.

I agree with everything you said but the AI has to get better. I shouldn't be beating the AI by 25-40 seconds on realistic mode in only my third or fourth race. I need a challenge to keep it exciting.

The graphics are amazing and the technique it takes to make all the jumps and rhythms is almost spot on. I do with each track didn't look like a mudhole and the dirt looked like it does in the stadiums. Riders also don't need to look like they raced in a muddy national after one lap in a dome stadium.

I was told that with cell service it is actually better to be in a valley than on the peak. My wife and I bought a house 6 months ago and we are in the highest part of town, in a decent size PA town, but our cell service doesnt work so great. Internet cuts out at times too. Not sure what I think about cell service being worse at a peak, but I know ours isnt very good.

I googled Shelocta, Im surprised noone doesnt offer internet since you are fairly close to Indiana, PA. But I feel your pain if they dont. My family owns some land just south of Punxsutawney and we have spotty cell service, which is fine because we only go there to ride mx, hunt, fish, and relax. Never looked into internet up there and probably never will since its a getaway.

I do know that Verizon's cell service is at least a little better than AT&T up there and always has been.

I think it is a result of 22 bikes, riders, and gates all dropping at the same time.

I dont recall any racing games where the AI was a challenge so this is nothing new for a lot of us. The tuff blocks though. Iam fine with how they move but they should reset after about 10 seconds. I had one race on line that there was about 4 of them in the transition of a rhythm section the entire 10 minute race. Obviously iam just being a crybaby cause i love the game so far.

So, I'm a noob at the game, and new to the milestone games. I did the intro race, and then one other race with the assists off to get a feel for the game. Overall, my only complaint is the tough blocks. . . though I am sure that will go away as I learn to be more consistent and stay away from them. I did not think that I would like the game, though I am decently surprised! It is super fun, and the realistic feel of the game is like none other that I have played. Thus far, I am best in the first person view, though I realize that I probably need to adjust to the follow cam if I want to get faster.

IMO, this game is definitely worth buying! So, anyone want to post pictures of bike setup so that I can copy it? lol

Well they don’t look muddy on a rainy day either in the game.

If milestone builds on this one, fixes glitches, give us a decent gate drop. Should be first person then fan out to third after the first 20 feet.

Makes it so the guy runs to his bike and picks it up. Even if it’s an auto pilot run that would be cool. I hate resetting.

And then incorporate some blue flags. Or give you PR points for lapping.

Formula 1 on the hardest mode is the only one where AI was really tough, but the fact that I can win by almost lapping the whole field in a ten minute race is not good.

I built a track I'm pretty proud of. It has some really big hip jumps, proper stadium whoops and has more of an outdoor feel too it. Check it out if you feel like it. FlOWY FIELD SX on x box 1

I have never mastered it on MXGP, MXGP2, or now Supercross by merely watching the gate for it to move. You will always be last to the first turn.

The only way to get a decent start sometimes;

Hint: The gate always drops at seven seconds.......

I started wondering the same thing during that first Ryan Dungey race at A2 because it felt like the AI were matching my pace whether I was going slow or fast. I guess we'll have to see. That would be a dream come true.

Yup. This game is awesome. I must say for all of the mxgp games, I have disliked them to start with, usually coming round to them after a few days. But wow, supercross has me hooked instantly. I did fear a kind of arcadey feel with some of the previews we saw but it’s fairly realistic.

It’s nice using the rear brake to slide it in to the corners, and then getting on the gas. Too much it will step out. My only gripe is the clucth, the bike always bogs after slipping it, but hey I’ll get over it.

The track builder is really nice even though my creativity is hopefully.

Did someone say there was a PS4 group that has been made for vital?
Yes there's a PS4 community for Vital MX. I created it so that we could race and play other games with other Vital members instead of just random people online.

Most of us ride or used to ride so playing a game with people that have knowledge about the sport provides a better experience in my opinion.

Go to the communities tab at the top of the main screen once you start your PS4 and search for Vital MX. You'll see the Vital MX logo. Send a request along with your Vital screename and I'll accept it once I receive it/get on the PS4 next time.

Yes after laying in a hospital with F1 years ago and mastering it on the hardest settings. It was ranked the most difficult race game to master and made all other racing games seem so much easier.
Also a smaller tv for 1st person shooters is listed as a cheat in some manuals. It works bigtime in the shoot games, not sure about moto.
Love this sx game.

I'm ready to get internet bullied but here I humbly go....

Does Milestone have the power on their end to fix all the glitches with updates? I have no idea how all the coding works.

I'd defiantly do that if possible but I live in a valley with no cell service even tried a network extender they have high speed like 1 1/2 miles away but won't bring it my way I'd have to pay to have them run it to me they quoted my buddy $7500 for a little under 1/2 mile

I'm in the country but have enough neighbors they could bring us Internet but won't for some reason anyone on here use satellite Internet for dlc updates and I'm thinking to use the track editor, if I click on it it just says error connecting to Playstation network or something like that.
