My question is how do we have the same network that covers NASCAR and can't get any info from a pit reporter on why one of the premier competitors in our sport pulled out of a race? If it was a NASCAR race, FOX would be giving us a 30 second to one minute report on why a back marker dropped out of the race.

Lol when has any rider, Tomac included, just pulled off for absolutely no reason? It doesn't happen, there's always a reason. You're just an idiot.
Lol kinda sounds like you're the idiot. Tomac quits. It's happened more times than once. How many times has he laid the bike over in a turn, taken 20 seconds to get up and get going then goes out and putts around? He's done it a few times. Then speculation starts about him being injured for a week. Then he goes out and wins the next race. He is a quitter. If one thing stands in his way of winning he mentally collapses then quits.

Exactly. This has been a complaint of mine with MX/SX for many years.

I'm a longtime NASCAR fan as well . That's why the fans feel so engaged. The drivers and teams are very forthcoming with information. If they drop a valve or break a transmission, they say so. Simple.
They just tell it like it is.
In this sport it's all hush, hush. Too much secrecy.

"most ridiculous post".......... that the majority of people agree with.

I’m actually a fan of Tomac as well. It’s just very frustrating to watch him. You see so much weird shit with him, and total lack of fire when things are going bad.

Not a fan of NASCAR, but agree, we have people down on the floor, why aren't they asking what's going on? Amart, no update? Tomac no update, Barcia no check in with his mechanic about why he was going backwards. Oh well, at least we can watch the same Weston Peick commercial 15 times...

Me too. I'm a Tomac fan but wtf? He does seem to give up when things don't go his way.

Excellent points.

I’m guessing because the pro MX factory sponsored bikes are meant to sell production bikes. So mechanical failures can reflect bad on a factory reputation. In NASCAR there is nothing stock about the car at all, so mechanical failures don’t really reflect onto a Toyota Camry in the showroom. The race car is just a way to get your logo splashed all over TV.

I wish they would bring back factory sponsored stock-ish car racing.

When has he quit? A1 he was hurt, as proven by him not even being able to race the next week. He finished every race last year and 2016 and faced more than one mechanical issue or crash throughout both seasons. We even saw him finish a race without a front brake when his championship rival didn't.

You should learn the definition of quit, if he gets up and continues racing (no matter the pace) than that is not quitting. So actually, I was wrong earlier, you're the idiot.

Once again I ask when has any rider just quit when the bike and himself were 100% capable of finishing the race?
Wasn't James Stewart in an outdoor national and just pulled out because he realized he wasn't
competitive on that day? Fuzzy memory but seem to remember something like that.

When was the last time a rider admitted he just quit because he was at the end of the pack and said fuckit, its not worth it anyways since i wont win. Anyone think no rider has ever pulled off with a mechanical as an excuse for that? Or rode around with an i dont care anymore attitude?
I'm guessing it's probably easy to have this attitude when you're as far back in the points Chase as he is now

You gotta be careful agn, chavez has every Sunday from now till Vegas marked off on his calendar and devoted to viciously attacking anyone that refuses to worship ET. Its become his “thing”, so be prepared for the holier than thou speech. But yes, this conversation happens every single week. Hey Chavez, “ET doesn’t have the heart of a champion.” Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Laughing Laughing

Yeah, kind of amazes me that someone can honestly argue this point. Oh well, can't fix (or argue) with stupid.

Other threads in the past have been "weeded" and cleaned up or had some house cleaning or whatever you want to call it without killing the whole thread. My question was sincere. I specifically asked if it was an injury or bike issue. Not my fault that some may have made comments about Eli's drive or motivation. If we could get some real information from a real pit reporter/journalist during the race, maybe there wouldn't be so many comments made that require "sanitizing" so some multi million dollar rider or his employer might get their feelings hurt over. The simple truth could head off a fair amount of the wild @$$ speculation. But that's just my opinion.

I don't delete stuff because someone might get their feelings hurt. I delete stuff so that not everyone here gets painted with the same brush.

Simply put, some posters here are smarter than others.

I also think a lot of Saturday night comments may be alcohol-fueled. Of course, that doesn't account for your post today. Wink

During the races, I'm shooting on the floor. I often pass along info that I get from there. After the race? I'm generally at the press conference talking with riders.
