Flex Bars? Good? Bad?

JT, I have a few buddies that run them..they love em....I've ridden a little with em, it helps....I; m just tight and my two boys thin k that they need everything dad gets too!!

I use them....When I first got them I didnt think I'd notice a real difference but I was wrong....They really help on the choppy and square edge stuff
When you really will notice them is the first time you ride a bike without them after getting used to them.
They arent cheap but with pipes now costing 1g. they're well worth the money IMO

I used them in 2003-2004, I liked them a lot...almost makes breaking bumps go away...

Not sure what brand you are talking about, I ran the Moose flex all year and noticed no difference.

The guy I help with his bike has them, and probably could not race without them. His wrists have been fcuked for years.

I have a set on my 74 CR250. Love them on that bike. With 4 inches of shitty suspension travel, it helps a whole lot! Not sure about them on other bikes, but I do have a spare set of them in the garage if you want to try them out. Had the opportunity to snag a used pair cheap, couldn't pass it up. PM me an address and I'll ship them your way. At least you'll know before you lay out three benjamins.Also, I run the stiffest bumpers on them and snug them down pretty tight.

I'd try them if they had a straighter bend available, the only choices they offer are 57mm sweep(like a Renthal 998 bend) or a 62mm(CR high bend). I prefer the Factory KTM bend which is 38mm sweep. Most of the people who use them love them, and say they couldn't imagine going back to normal bars. Those guy's would really hate my Renthal Twin Walls.

I've heard nothing negative about them ever...just a little pricey. But if you can afford a AF500, then it's just a drop in the bucket to you...LOL

The last set of flex bars I seen used was that photo of Magoo riding with his, they flexed all the way to the gas tank.

kawboy - you need to look again at their application listing. They have a LOT of bends and now a 10 degree bend (in sweep) - that is very straight.

You can call them and tell them what you run, and they will let you know if they have an equivalent bend.

Also refunded many broken Twinwalls, in my time.

Thanks, I was just going by the choices that Motosport carries and figured that was all Fasstco made.

I have pretty bad arthritis in both hands and the Flexx bars do help with the soft or medium elastomers. They took some getting used to though, they feel a little disjointed at first but i have had them on every thing i have owned since 04 and never broke or bent a thing on them. I do know how to crash BTW!Smile

As someone said, if you go back and forth between a bike with and without you will notice the difference but after a while they do not feel strange at all.

Seen pics of broken one's, but I've never been able to signifigantly bend a pair. I have broken 3 mounts while crashing with them though due to the lack of "give". Two Applied mounts, one Pro Circuit.

Are you breaking the mounts, or the bolts ?

I would guess I received six, or seven, broken Twinwalls in three years. I have recently ridden with them and find them to be very harsh feeling...I like fat bars, just slightly less than Flexx bars

I ordered some about 7 years ago when I first got my 2000 CR250 because the armpump was so bad. I did crack a pair right in half. I slid out during practice on race day and the dirt was a little icy and they just cracked right in half-they did replace them though. Only thing I don't like about them is they are heavy. Hard to tell if they help or not-seems like they do a little and have different customization settings. There is another product on the market that doesn't bend at the grip part but more at the triple clamp area-just can't remember the name.

Best bars ever made for vet riders. Zero arm pump during our exhausting 15 minute motos. Heavy as helll but worth it.

They never really got rid of my armpump completely. Maybe gave me an extra lap and that was about it. Does seem to help a bunch on hard landings where your wrist would normally take the force.

Best Mod you will ever do for your Bike/Bod. I have a rod in my right arm and torn stuff in both wrists, 2 torn-separated shoulders, one floating clavicle, and the Flexx Bars are the ONLY reason I can still ride.


I over jump stuff from time to time and when you flat land something or jump into the face of the next uphill...like the elevator....the bars drop down an inch or two - it's like adding extra travel to your front end - albeit - VERY stiff travel - but it works. I credit them (on at least 5 times) with saving me from a broken wrist(s) or snapping the rod in my bad arm.


I ABSOLUTELY will not ride without this product. The product of the year/century/MX all time.

BTW - I run the anti-vibration inserts as well. That set up rocks.
