Milestone - Monster Energy Supercross The Official Video Game

Got my email today that Amazon received the game and will be on my doorstep on the 13th, and it's been upgraded as well. 5 days...

I went the digital download route. It's downloaded on my xbox and ready to play when I get home from work and relax with the pups.

I don't see anything indicating there is a clutch, do we know if there is?

I wish it wasn't so easy to just plop your way through the rhythm sections, that's was drove me nuts about Encore.

You can tell the person playing tries not to make contact with the AI. I wonder how that is going to be in this one.

Anxious for next week to see what you guys all think of the game, I'm holding off on the pre-order until I see some game play from better players.

Atleast this video shows that you can’t ride bad and case everything and still get a win

to be honest the more i see the less interested i become.

i'll still be buying it, but i'm a lot less excited than i was when info first started coming out.

as for the authenticity... it's pretty rad the first time or so, but eventually i'll be hitting X as fast as i can trying to skip everything except for the actual racing.

Same. Was hyped for the game when first announced. Both games look good. All out may be the better game and I’ve loved all gp games especially 3, encore sucked donkey ass tho.

There was a previous video shown a while back with assists in which gave an on screen controller map. Pretty sure clutch was mapped to left bumper, as usual.

I feel like Milestone and Nordic have two totally different feelings to their games. Milestone goes wth the more serious racing game for the guys that want the real feel. Nordic goes for the more casual/maybe not a huge racing fan that wants a fun game to play that allows you to do all kinds of other stuff besides racing. I feel like you have MXGP/MES guys and then you have MVA guys, with some of us I’m between. I’m stoked for both games! I’ll be getting MES for the serious racing feel and I’ll be getting All Out so I can have a different kind of fun. My mood at the time will decide which game I play. I’ll probably be switching between the two fairly often. From the looks of it, all out should be pretty darn good, and I hope it is because Supercross sucked!!!! I played it for 30 minutes and sold it to gamestop. I loved alive and reflex though! As far as the milestone games, I started with mud and played MXGP, gp2 and gp3. They are all fun but in a different way than mva.

I have good news!

After explaining to Milestone's guys in the UK that the gameplay videos haven't done the game any justice, they have given us (MX Vice) early access. I've done four races and, trust me, those Team VVV videos are nothing like the real thing.

I'll get gameplay videos up and everything ASAP, but this is good. I agree with everyone else and started to lose faith based on recent videos. I'm back on the bandwagon now though!

I must be the only guy here that doesn't really like mxgp3. Definitely buying supercross, but I hoped there's some improvements around consistency.
And for everyone complaining about the turbo clutch in mxvsatv, have you never seen a guys pop a 75ft triple from a dead stop on the inside of the turn? Seems more realistic than the sitting there spinning and going nowhere like mxgp3.

So... When you first load the game you get put into a race at Anaheim 2 with basic physics, automatic shifting and all that. That's basically what you have seen in the other gameplay videos.

Once I got into my own race, with regular physics/manual shifting, it made all the difference. I was jumping onto a tabletop and immediately shifting to get the pop off. I did bobble in a rhythm and then had to go double, double, double to get out (rather than mindlessly pinning it like Team VVV) and lost quite a lot of time. It was realistic.

Oh yeah, everyone else was playing with joint brakes. Once you make it so that there are separate buttons for the front and back brakes that also makes a huge difference. Squaring up the berms is really impressive.

Bulk of the damage is probably done in terms of preview gameplay. VVV guy shows how casual the game can be in the wrong hands. What the videos show are still valid concerns none the less. (If track cutting is possible, might as well get that out there on video now too so Milestone fixes it asap!) Unfortunately, VVV's lack of skill is compounded by his lack of previewing any sort of differences between the "easy" setting and "normal."

Yeah. The first time I went through a rhythm, I immediately thought that it looked like a different game (compared to the videos we have seen). It's effectively the worst possible way to publicise a game.

It took me a little bit to like GP3. At first I didn't like it at all. Then I played more and it had some sort of update, then I started messing with suspension setup on different bikes, then last I switched the physics to pro and made quite a bit of difference to me. I do wish it was a little slower paced because it is pretty fast, I wish it had the game mode that gp2 had where you played out real scenarios from that year and I wish you didn't spin as if you were doing burnouts trying to get your tire hot for a concrete start. The last one was taken care of by switching to manual shifting though.

Yeah maybe I'll the manual shift. Been thinking of trying the separate brakes to. But then I got sidetracked playing mad max lol.

Mad Max is awesome. middle to end gets really repetitive though. i liked upgrading the car and testing it on the random roaming cars in the wasteland, fuckin' awesome

Sooo the game releases in a few days... Feb 13 I'm assuming is a world wide date. Us down under backward folk are a day ahead of you guys, and I've got it on pre-order, so I'm thinking we'll get first dibs?

If so I'll be sure to provide feedback.
