With a vacation ahead i was happy to finally get a full working day on the bike. I had all the parts for building up the frame sorted cleaned, serviced and ready to mount (linkage, swingarm, brakes, suspension).

Grey airboxes are not easy to get, i found this one in a nice condition. Cleaned it and applied a thin layer of matt clear coat, this way it looks like a almost new airbox!

I went on steam with a verry long working dayCool

Tried some things to restore the fuel tank. After this i found 91 technosel fuel tank stickers for the fuel tank.

Looking sweet interesting about the spokes was there much weight difference with the weight ? I have always thought this seemed to be overlooked in favour of stainless spokes

Your bike is looking fantastic. I love the look of the 91 Hondas. The gold wheels look great. Looking forward to see your finished bike.

Towards the end of the build i was happy to see the progress. All the little things together are still time consuming. But it is worth it!

For now i want to try the 36mm PJ carb wich i rebuild. I have a 38 also, that one i ordered a service kit for. I have a CR250 intake tube fitted, already for the bigger carb (wich i think will work the best). I like the oem colored keihin carb vent tubesWink

The exhaust damper is one from the brand hgs (also dutch), it needed a refill, so i got that one fixed and got the steel parts whire wheeled so they look like new. New stainless steel gastight rivets.

The exhaust pipe i found from the italian brand Messico turned out to be a type that you don't see very often. Is has more sections than the normal production one, maybe it is a older version? Still trying to find out. Would be cool if someone know annything about this type.

I also had a exhaust pipe calculated and build, this should be a more top end pipe so we will see! A custom made coned exhaust pipe always looks good in my opinionCool

Love the look of the cone pipe. It has that factory "unobtainable" look to it.

Just read your build from start till now. Awesome choice of bike, great work on the build, good photos and explanations. Keep the updates coming. Some factory suspension would be the icing on the cake.

Some parts scored at the last stage of the build.
Frame vin sticker remade

Twin air oldskool stickers

Hrc style case saver
The benefit of this part is that the area from the case saver that contacts the crankcase is a lot bigger.

My favorite: a exhaust joint that has several o-rings to seal the exhaust flange. The stock construction leaks verry fast, and i doubt if it ever seals 100%.
It comes from a kart engine industry company, nice quality stuff! It also has o-ring mounting at the back where the flange meets the cylinder.

Got the bike fully assembled and filled up ready to start. I used octane 102 (european) because of the higher compression ratio's from back in the day when leaded fuel was being sold.

When i bought the bike it did ran healthy, but now that everything is new the sound of the bike is like a new one! Bike runs healthy with a fast throttle response.

Some music for two stroke loversWoohoo :

Excellent work!! Love the look. I'm a die hard Honda CR125 guy having quite a few through out the years. The older HPP motors definitely run stronger up top then the 2000 and up models.

It’s been a while posting, but i did lots of testing on the bike. The cr125 has gained in power a lot.

I’ve tested almost everything i had laying around for the bike.

Some dyno work: Honda CR 125 dyno

I started out with 33-34 hp (this was with using a stock pipe+vforce and 36mm carb) and for now i have it at 37.1hp with a (38mm carb+govener mod)Woohoo

That’s only 2hp less then a stock Husqvarna TC125 2017/2018 on our dyno. Real two stroke fans know those bikes are fast.

After all, it has to be proven on the track also. At my first race i got an insane good start with my 125 between the combinated class with 250s/500s.

Will post dyno charts soon!

Awesome stuff. I'm hoping for 39 with my 139 kit. I've built a 99 similar engine wise so can't wait for my bike to start very soon.
Nino is the man when it comes to the hpp. Someone needs to reproduce the 99 power valve and guides, as theyre getting rare.
Can you get leaded fuel in Europe?

Cool that you got a hpp also, best Honda 125 enginesCool

Honestly i think a 125cc will give you more rpm's than a 139 kit. I have tried a 139 before, i didn't like it over a 125.

I talked and still talk with Nino about engine performance and things to try out. We have leaded fuel here, but only Avgas 115. I'm using RON102 fuel for the bike.

Did you use different ignition in the end? I'm looking at adjustable vortex for my 99 as yes it could maybe help the 139 for overrev. The custom wiseco piston is light so i will see.
I will use 100 avgas for lead but end of year lead is banned in Australia. Is your 102 fuel oxygenated much?
