I agree with the OP. I love looking at beautiful woman in skimpy clothes, but that's what the internet is for. Outsiders aren't ever going to take our sport seriously when half naked women are plastered all over the screen. Seriously you'd think we were watching monster trucks or perhaps freestyle motocross with the way our sport is presented.
My thoughts are similar. If we want to grow the sport, some professionalism is required. Thanks for sharing your opinion. You'll probably get flamed for it...

Thanks for sharing your opinion. You'll probably get flamed for it though.
I agree as well. I'm looking at the way it portrays supercross, and the way Monster Energy portrays the girls...slutty. Plenty of other opportunities to look at beautiful women. Lots of vitards will flame me and others for that opinion but I'm secure enough in my manhood...zero fucks given.

I think the people that think motocross/supercross needs to be “more proffessioal” are watching the wrong sport. Motocross/supercross is what it is because it isn’t perfect and professional. It’s badass Is what it is. Bunch of badass dudes putting there body on the line on a fast bike jumping shit and trying to win fame and fortune. I don’t want them walking out in suits and shit.

Some of you guys seem to want less personality, and more “The bike was good, I want to thank god, and I want to thank (list of sponsors)” while holding energy drink can.
I want more personality, less snowflakes, riders not scared to say what’s on their mind. More JLaws n shit. Please?

I'm not proposing anything. I'm trying to create a discussion around a topic that I find interesting.

I honestly do not feel that passionate about the issue, I just think it's relevant to our sport. For one thing, people mention frequently how "motocross is a family sport"... well, it's hard to be family oriented when the only females involved are presented as commodities with no value beyond aesthetics... seems like an odd message from a family-oriented source.

If you don't think it's about objectification of women, try thinking of the last time you saw a straight up ugly female standing on the podium, holding the 30-second card, or interviewing riders.

To point out the absurdity and hypocrisy even further, imagine how it would be received if instead of a half-naked female, it was a half-naked dude holding the 30-second card - talk about sex scandals. If it's not appropriate for one, why is it appropriate for another?

And for the record, I'm libertarian, not liberal. So, I don't believe that anyone should be forced to do anything - whether it has to do with 30-second card girls, guns, drugs, or whatever. TO EACH HIS OWN.

I'm just trying to start a discussion... not label people liberals or conservatives as a guide to dismiss their posts.
From your posts. Basically you have said that you agree with the article you posted. You think pit girls add no value to the sport. They are presented as commodities with no value beyond aesthetics. And that they bring nothing to the table.

Maybe you are creating a very short sighted stereotype and the problem isn't the pit girls, or what you perceive as the lowest common denominator. Maybe its you that just wants to complain about something that has little to no effect on you or the sport. If you were really a Libertarian things like this would not bother you enough to " Start a conversation about it "

To you maybe these women are just dumb harlots, victims being exploited. But to them its a job that puts food on the table ( by the way what is your job, maybe we can decide if you bring anything to the table). Or its a job to pay for their education, or a chance to travel and network with people and maybe find future opportunities. Im going to assume these are grown women who work hard and take their job serious. Who the fuck are you to suggest their jobs should be done away with.

Whats next cheerleaders, underwear models ? How many women would you like to put out of work before you feel better about it ? By the way you are a liberal. This is what liberals do, they start a conversation about it. Libertarians say let them hold the 30 sec board naked if they want.

Here is an interview with the most famous Pit girl in motorsports history. She is a well respected legend in the industry and made a good career for herself for 50 years. Read it and maybe it will open your mind a little and see that maybe some of these women bring a lot more to the table than your short sided view seems to think.

pretty simple if you ask me.... don't watch supercross or motocross and that fixes your issue with a family setting, its for tv plain and simple, any supercross you attend, you will not be able to tell how much clothes the 30sec girl has on from your seat....how many fans do you really think the sport would gain with the girls not holding the 30 sec boards? sure take them away and I will still watch and wont be upset about it, but at the end of the day it shouldn't upset anyone.. if you want a more family setting go after getting the beer and drunks removed not the scenery

Are the girls complaining? Are they being coerced or otherwise mistreated? If not, isn't it possible that some or even many of them enjoy their job and are happy for the opportunity? In that case, isn't it rather condescending to say: "Hey, I think you're being demeaned and thus shouldn't be doing that!"? It's, of course, possible that someone can be demeaned without realizing it. But who's to say that that is the case here, as that implies that, from the outside, a person can say that they're too dumb to realize that they're being exploited. That goes back to the point about condescension. People who want to control what other's do tend to assume that they are in a position to do so because they know better than others. Those people need to go away and STFU. This is a libertarian way of thinking: Let people do whatever they want - if they aren't harming anyone else, then stay out of it.

That's a lot of twisting and assuming. I said previously that I not that passionate about the issue and that I wanted to start a discussion about it because it seemed interesting to me. Look up the "No True Scotsman" logical fallacy and you will understand why it doesn't make any sense saying what a "real libertarian" would or would not do.

Nah, I don't think these women are dumb harlots. I have never met a Monster Girl or any other similar type of model within the MX or SX industry. No, I do not think they are exploited - they chose on their own to take this job and they are probably making more money than me. I don't think any less of them as people. What I do think, and again this is my personal opinion, is that MX and SX would be fine without them.

As for you saying "who the fuck are you to suggest..." Uh, I'm a random person who is speaking his mind and thank god we have a the right to do that in this country.

How about we let the girls decide? When they stop competing to be a Monster girl, Ferrari Girl or Dallas Cowby cheerleader and they stop posing for Playboy, Penthouse and Maxim and we have no more candidates applying for the position, then we can move in another direction. Until then, lets have all the liberal idiot clown posse STFU and do something useful. Seems to me like there are a ton of women out there that are happy with there career choices, and guess what, this is America, nobody forced them to do what they do.

Right now it seems we dont have any issues like under employment, healthcare, the budget, terrorism, North Korea to worry about and a bunch of fools are making busy tearing our country down to the lowest common denominator. It seems that soon there will be no one fit to hold office, host a TV show or be a CEO unless they are gay or LGBT because apparently no hetero man is fit to do anything if they ever looked or talked to a woman not their wife.

What a shit show this country has become, and now its even gotten to MX...

Australia anyone?

I think I get it; from the "daughter" perspective, they are watching, and what do they see? "For real", it's the boys that do the racing, honey, and the girls look pretty and stand off to the side. Should she aspire to be the top racer or know that to "fit in", it's the "be purdy" thing for her. Fitting in seems important for many young 'uns.

It's tough though, because most of us prefer seeing somebody pretty holding the 30 second board, not a chunky dude from the AMA or whatever. Even a lady would likely prefer to see a pretty model over the AMA guy. So I start thinking "well maybe they could just wear more professional-looking clothes, like Jenny Taft, beautiful and professional or whatever." That starts to scare me too, because where do we draw the line with that? Monster has every right to dress their employees that promote their product in the most advantageous way possible to further their business. The people would speak by not purchasing their product (one would imagine) and send a clear message.

In short, I have nothing to offer.

As a side note, when WILL we see a lady come in and dominate our sport? Why has that not happened? What part of motocross says you have to be a guy to make it to the top? You don't have to be built like the Terminator to ride fast.

I feel like lots of opinions get voiced in this sort of issue without anyone being real.

First. Sex sells.

Second. It sells to everyone.

The family sport argument? A lot of families are raising little cunts. You know how I know? Because there are a lot of cunts out there.

So whilst you can say it demeans, detracts, deters etc, well, I don't know if you took an IQ swab around your local pits lately but this post would seem polite some days so maybe do less with the moral high ground.

Should we aspire for more? Maybe. Will it make a difference? No. My wife isn't watching F1 because of the grid girls. She's not watching it because it's boring as hell and she doesn't give a fuck. And I'm certainly not raising my Daughter to expect everyone will be as good to her as I am her Mum.

Same with MX, I don't know if you've ever noticed, but people who aren't into MX, think it's boring as batshit. Unless you ride, that's it. Which is the BIGGEST problem we have, not a bit of qwacka-tinged lycra.

Ashley Fiolek was pretty rad in her days. Her being deaf and beating Jessica Patterson in her prime is a true testament to her talent. If I recall a woman tried to qualify for a couple SX rounds a year or two ago, I don't think she made the night show but she got mentioned on TV. Not sure what she has done since, or even her name off the top my head.

Thank you for bringing up an position you are rather odstinate about. However, have you considered the topic being rather ill-suited considering the red blooded testosterone fueled band of merry makers you're trolling. And yes you are a troll.
You obviously lack the ability to achieve competant critical thinking. This thread is akin to wearing a suit of meat and standing on the diving board above the shark tank, this is where critical thinking tells you to take off the suit and go home and read Tolstoy... but alass you dive in. Enjoy the feast.

Dumbgeon material if it wasn't for the nice pics of fabulously beautiful ladies. I do appreciate that.
