It's a great way to make some extra income if you can get a good following. Just a thought.
Forgot to ask.
Favorite city?
Least favorite city?
I'm sure it would help. I still have some funds coming in from albums I did in early 2000s as well as more recent stuff right up to this year. Nothing major but royalties are nice. We also did some songs for a few commercials. Can't remember what though. Lol.
Favorite city. Shibuya, Japan
Least favorite city: Umm...there are parts of DC that are super sketch. Not sure exact what city. The whole cities blurring together is true. Our techs used to write on set list where we were so could address crowd properly.
Or did you mean you guys wrote music specifically for some TV commercials that were not part of any albums?
As for YouTube in order for it to be really worth it and to build a fan base you would more than likely have to put out 1 or 2 video's a week. It's the only real way to get people coming back to your channel and watch/subscribe. That's if you'd want to eventually make extra income to a full fledge salary. It would require quite a bit of work between practice, shooting and editing the video's, uploading them, interacting with your audience, etc. Once you have a lot of video's up and you have a strong fan base the money just keeps rolling in. Making money while you sleep, can't beat that.
Wrestling took a shit after the attitude era and I stopped watching it in the early 2000's. Stone Cold was the shit and the chicks were wearing practically nothing hence the reason a young boy watched wrestling lol.
You basically confirmed all the stuff I thought about the music business and underlined why I don't feel so bad that my band never made it. Glad you got to experience that life and still made it out before being a burnt-out wreck or worse yet, a statistic.
Pit Row
I guess if you had a steady gig in Lady Gaga's tour band or something like that, it would be pretty solid.
The business is certainly changing though. I'm surprised there are any "record companies" still in existence in 2017.
I really appreciate it guys. I've got some more cool stuff I'll be adding to the thread tonight and tomorrow.
It's awesome you're taking the time to interact with interested people. Music is a huge thing to people that "get it".
Metal evolution is a great series to watch for a history 101.
Metal: A Headbanger's Journey
Global Metal
Also, I agree about the TV series Metal Evolution. For those that might not know, in that series each episode focuses on 1 subgenre of metal. There's 11 episodes that aired on TV with a 12th called Extreme Metal: The Lost Episode that was apparently too metal for TV lol.
All 3 of those were made by the same guys.
So if any of you are looking for something to watch in your down time start with the documentaries and then the TV series.
