Malcolm? Who knows. He may put a deal together at the last minute again and show up at A1, put in nice lap times and finish 15th to 20th.
If he left the sport happy we would still be hearing from him.
I sense there is beef between the AMA and the Stewarts for whatever reason that might be... Malcom may not be the most commuted rider/worker out there however after winning a SX title you should be getting a 450f factory ride thats GENERALLY how the game goes,,, E,G is AC won the SX lites this year he'd be on a factory ride next season.
Malcom isnt the most motivated guy him not getting a ride after the SX Championship surely that is heart breaking/demotivating.
The more I see it the less I envy being famous.
Bear in mind that this video does not include his 125 supercross crash (vegas??) or the crash when his kx450 locked up at southwick or when dungey hit him or when he went over the bars at high point or when he cartwheeled over the tough blocks at Daytona or numerous other crashes. It is very selfish for you guys to say he owes you anything. He gave his life to this sport and will have lasting effects to his brain because of it. I hope that he is able to enjoy life despite his numerous tbi's because I know my few tbi's effect my quality of life.
Miss you James and Malcom.
Hope you are enjoying yourselves
Guy races 8 races a year and can't be bothered to put in an effort for the rest of the year and you guys are surprised he doesn't have a ride. That's just laughable.
Meanwhile some privateers with much less connections and funding/budgets manage to put programs together for the entire year.
He can't be bothered to return MCR's calls for a month. Is he that busy that he can't pick up his phone for 5 minutes when they're reaching out to him for a ride? Please. That's just poor business. MCR have shown that they run a legit program. Is he so above them that they don't deserve a little bit of courtesy? Don't think so. He finally got back to them via text. Real professional on his part.
Definition of lazy: unwilling to work or use energy.
Listen we can't all be Stewart nut huggers.
Dean put a program that included a couple bikes, some parts, a sprinter van with his dad as the mechanic.
Malcolm put a program together that included bikes, parts, an 18 wheeler, staff and then said it costs a lot to put your own program together. Sure it costs a lot to put your own program together at the level these guy's race but did he really need a semi and a lot of staff? No. His results would of been the same had he done things on a much smaller scale like Wilson. The money he would of saved could of helped him get to some outdoor rounds and prove his worth.
imo , no factory team will ever offer james a ride again even if he was fit and wanting to ride. After yoshi suzuki stood by him when he got banned , (which most teams would have fired him) He rewarded them by not bothering his ass to get ready or even fit . that was the last burt bridge ,big time .
I think the industry is done with the Stewarts. I get the vibe they have burned a lot of bridges and Mookie clearly has no fire in the belly. Why should anyone waste any money on the Stewarts? Did Mookie ever even race outdoors on a 450? Who wins a 250 champ then is suddenly too good for outdoors?
Mookie is the only one who thinks he is worth a good 450 ride , because if anyone else did, they would have given him one, Mike Genova has made an offer, which he didnt consider worthy of a reply, and for me , that is why he will sit on the sdielines and end up like his brother, being no longer relevant, but without ever having done something to be properly relevant in the first place.
Wilson's 'bike and van' approach was all that was needed, and it said more about Dean that he was happy to do it like that , than it did for Mookie to rent a big rig, although he probably needed it to carry all the anchors.
Pit Row
Effectively JGR bought the No1 plate for the season, for me he has to retain it, and show speed outdoors to get that 2019 450 spot , over Bogle and Peick.
Freudian slip?
Then he'd have gotten a ride by mid-season!
To answer OP's question: We as people with free will can do whatever the hell we want to. If you want to go ride tomorrow, you just go out and fucking ride. Simple as that.
All of the above philosophical thoughts lead me to believe Malcolm didn't feel like riding/racing on that particular day, hence he's not out there
