Its very good, i have been impressed with the changes they have made, it for sure turns better, the best way i can describe it is it feels as though there is less resistance against you when you turn, especially inside ruts and tighter turns, i haven't made many changes yet as its so new but the suspension is very good straight away, it never does anything unpredictable, i have not changed anything with mapping yet and was impressed with the stock setup!

Those of you that came off 16-17 models, is the difference in handling really drastic? Is it worth it over an older model? There is a kit available that slims down the front shrouds on the older models, how slim is a stock 18 yz450f compared to older bikes with that kit?

I'm a 250 guy and have been having trouble deciding if I should wait for the 2019 updated 250f or just get a 2018. Could care less about electric start after the problems I've had with my Husky, just want to know if the rest of the changes made make it worth waiting for.

I came off the 17 YZ450F, I had cycra shroud plastics, drd radiator lowering kit, and 22mm triple clamps and the 18 still turns better, and has better front end feel ! I haven't had a good amount of time yet, but it is 100% an improved and better bike!

I’m still waiting for mine to arrive. In the meantime, could any of you confirm if the 2017 front number plate will physically fit? I’d like to use a Cycra plate on my 18.

Just finished getting mine ready for its first ride tomorrow. In my opinion this is how Yamaha should have made the graphics for the white edition.

Did the white model get released before the blue model? It seems crazy that we are into October and 2018 YZ450 is just starting to trickle in.

Did you run a spacer underneath the number plate mount? Fit one up and looked like i needed a spacer to fill the gap for the bolt.

Lithium ion batteries require a lithium ion/"special" charger, sounds like an uneducated tech/dealer

Did you activate the computer by pressing the starter button?

yes. just got it yesterday, so I'm gunna try again today. I entered the s/n number just like instructed. it immediately recognizes is on the wifi as GYTR POWER TUNER but says no internet connection and that to try restart the modem and the router or contact ISP. It seems to be a pretty simple procedure, not sure what the hell is going on lol

1. What dealer told you that?
2. They are already at dealers in southern Illinois as we speak.

I would rather not mention the dealer's name as a close friend of mine works there and its not cool. He was embarrassed to say the least. Good thing is, I got my new scooter!!! Oh and they had the tires at 25 lbs lmfao

It is always going to say no internet connection.. You are connected to the bike via wifi just can't use the internet because there is no internet connection on the bike. Once you pull up the app it will show everything. Best way to check it out is when its running so you can see the temps and throttle position. Hope this helps!

Got to rip some laps on my buddy's new YZ450F. This bike rips!! Feels as narrow as my yz250 2 stroke. I feel it corners better then the 2011 he had and it's night & day difference in power over the 11. We logged 1.7hrs on it yesterday. Tried the mellow map setting since it was a bit slick on our track. You can actually tell a difference with the map settings. I was curious to see how well they worked. Awesome bike imo

Well here is my 2018 450! Rode it 2 days in a row and it is awesome! Handles awesome and feels like your right hand is connected to the rear wheel. Noticeably thinner than my 14 yz450 even with the cycra shrouds. Power tuner app works great. Can't wait to get more time on this beast!
