Well here is my 2018 450! Rode it 2 days in a row and it is awesome! Handles awesome and feels like your right hand is connected to the rear wheel. Noticeably thinner than my 14 yz450 even with the cycra shrouds. Power tuner app works great. Can't wait to get more time on this beast!

How is the handling compared to your 14?
I'm reading this generation still has some front end "very unique" feel...
I had an 11 that never gelled with me...
Tried all suspension setting/revalve/link/ engine reloc kit

Spent more time on the ground than with any other bikes before
One lap it would be fine, next one the front would wash out out of nowhere
This bike was beyond unpredictable for me. Tried real hard but got tired of being "scared" and laying on the ground for no reason
The engine was awesome but that chassis was another story
Suspension action was superb as far as absorbing small stuff or bigger impacts

I have yet to have any twitchy or unique feel. I had quite a bit of stuff done to my 14 to get it to handle (jgr link, dr.d rad lwr kit, steel front engine mounts, etc) But imo this bike corners 100 percent better than my already set up 14. As far as suspension I set the sag at 104mm (6'1" 170lbs), raised the forks up 5mm and then rode it for 2 10 lap motos. Let it cool down and went 2 clicks in on fork comp and 2 clicks on shock comp and 1 click in on shock rebound. I am probably not going to send this suspension out it is that good. Sticks in all the ruts from tight insides to sand berm outsides. I really can't believe how good it is out of the box compared to my 14. If you have any other questions just let me know!

I rode an 18 a couple weeks ago. Not a big fan of 450's but this bike felt different. I loved the smooth power delivery of the stock tune. It felt as light as my 250 and turned great for me even with the forks in the stock location and the sag not set for me. I would be able to adapt to this 450 quickly.

Has anyone found something to do with the vent hose that comes out the top of the tank. Normally I would snip and put a billet vent cap but I'm not sure whether that will work.

You have two options, you can actually run a billet and it will work fine. Or, take off the airbox cover and drill a hole at the front of it so the vent tube can pass through. I routed mine this way and then run the hose to the cable catch on the left side of the frame.

I would rather do the billet vent cap. not sure how long I would have to snip the actual hose to allow the billet cap room under the seat.

I'm on a '15 with FC suspension, and I'm considering going to the '18. Anyone move from a '14 or '15 and have opinions on the comparison?

I’ve only got a couple of rides on my new ‘18 but coming off of a ‘14. Motor seems to have less bottom end than my old one but revs much better. The cockpit seems a bit more cramped but I’m a bigger guy though, 6’3” - 240. The suspension was crazy soft, even for a couple of buddies that were 170. I just got the suspension back and should get some time on it this week to mess with it some more.

You don't need to drill any holes. Just route it to the side and out along the inside of the radiator shroud. There is a perfect size gap for hose that doesn't pinch. Then route the hose forward along the radiator hose and down behind the radiator.

I did the exact same thing on the 2014 four years ago and always wondered why everyone didn't follow suit because it was so easy.

Anybody got info on who might have radiator hose kits available for the 18. I ordered a kit for a 2017 from ebay as the guy insured me it would work but the small hose coming from the bottom of the radiator to the "Y" coupler does not have the correct bend in it and has a slight kink. I'm pretty sure it will obstruct water flow. so I don't want to risk it.

I'm 6'2" and 220. Who did the suspension? How do you like the bike now compared to your '14?

Anyone got the Twin Air airbox cover? How does it fit in there? I got the GYTR but it seems like you have to move the shrouds out of the way to put it in which sucks.

That airbox is a nightmare.

2018 is totally new design.

Expected them this week but the Teal delayed it a few days. Word shipping Monday and should have both standard and Y kit next Friday.

Are there any advantages to the Y kits over the standard?
