Taking time off to heal will fix his issues. Taking a 12 month period off of all the hard work will do wonders. I think racers underestimate the power of really letting your body rest and heal. Take 12 months off of full timing it. Ride for fun once a week. No doing motos. Run a little to maintain fitness. If half these guys did this. They would extend the quality years of their career. Adding more seasons. Look at reeds approach lately. Im sure he isn't frantically banging out motos like 10 yrs ago

he said he has a couple options in the u.s. and europe. so I guess he will be on a team for '18, just needs to figure out what is the right thing to do for him right now.

Too bad that there are rules that work against good riders like him.

Who would a 250 team want more:

Justin Barcia or the average fast kid from Lorettas.

Same can be said in GPs

Who would a team want:

Paturel or one of the top EMX250 riders
On the other hand, the same rules were bent to let two riders (I think Nicoletti and somebody else) race 250's after they were full time 450 riders in past seasons...

Edit: The other rider who appealed and moved back to 250's was Kyle Chisholm.

I think he would do well in Europe he's had some good results in the few races he has done. He's got the adaptive nature about him and would certainly be exciting to watch him mix it up with the GP boys.

He's not going anywhere. Even Mookie is still out there and he does nothing but go fishing and wait for his phone to ring.

It's not the bike that matters. Everyone saying he needs to go to x brand. He's a super mental rider and hasn't had a good luck run yet. 2 years back he went and won(or podiumed) washougal and went on a tear after that.

All mental.

He should go see a sports psychologist and get his brain back to thinking he's a badass, and his riding will show. The skills are still there.

That's interesting because I heard the exact opposite, that he's got nothing

He has done enough revs for 16 years .

He cant ride a 450. On the odd track outdoors he might get away with it, but over a season, his rev it to the moon style makes the bike not work.

In SX his dumbass decisions do for him most of the time.
So you say that guy who has won 450 nationals against one of the best all time, cant ride 450?

Thats like saying that if you put an addic in rehab he will change. If Barcia wants to change he will, but he has been this way all his career, and he has had training coaches try to change him with little to no success.

Where in the fuckity fuck is this coming from? Do people bring up karma because he knocked down a rider they like in a corner one time?

People trash the guy constantly and say how he blames all the bikes, where is the proof in that? How many riders put out a prompt and respectful thank you to their previous employer?

I am not trashing Barcia, and I do find him to be an entertaining rider on and off of the track. As for my karma remark, history doesn't just go away...

I have a feeling your comment may have not been totally directed at me though so I will let the Barcia haters chime in if they would like.

Oh Duh! that's right. I would just not write off them fielding here guys next year though (especially given the development that they are doing with Jasikonis and the fact it will be a building year for Jeremy. That and I thought his (Barcia's) initial contract was with Suzuki, not that of JGR. That and in his press release said nothing of that of his relationship with Suzuki terminating. It was a 1-yr contract though, idk these are just words, who really knows with this joke of an industry whats actually going on.

Barcia was awesome on a 250. He has had a hard time with the 450. I wonder what moto would look like if guys could stay in 250 forever. I bet Barcia would be better off right now.

Why do people think he's had a hard time on 450's?

A couple years when hurt. yup. SX, may have had a harder time of it.

2013 4th
2014 hurt
2015 3rd
2016 4th
2017 hurt

Seems that's not too bad.

Because they are haters. No matter what the kid does he is doomed by some. There is such a double standard when it comes to Justin. There are very few guys on the gate who have had as much success as he has had on a 450 when he is healthy. Unfortunately he has been hurt a lot and he has tried to ride through it, case in point this yr. the kid has had serious injuries and has tried to come back when he probably shouldn't have. He was out 2 of the last 3 nationals with a head injury. In all fairness he probably shouldn't have raced Indiana or the MXGP but those are decision that he has to deal with it. He is not Roczen, Dungey or Tomac but he certainly belongs in that next group of 450 riders IMHO.

Not bad at all but look at Tomac they act like he is nothing and he is winning more motors this year than anyone.

I remember him beating Roczen on a 450.

Something has changed.
Mentally or physically we do not know
