American MX just took a kick in the nuts
An eye opener. Europe has a lot of fast guys in Mx1; a lot of ex-champions that are very fast. It would be hard not to say the mxgp 450 talent pool is deeper than ama moto at the moment. Kenny and JA are out though and Webb still has to figure out the 450.

Herlings just came into our sandbox and broke all of our toys and stole the sand when he left....Impressive.

Not the same. If tomac won overseas it would apply, but he did not.
I'd argue Charlotte was more of a MXGP style track seeing how it was basically flat with motocross style obstacles, which the GP riders have a lot more experience racing on as about a third of their series consists of that style of track and we saw who won. Granted Gasjer was riding for a title.

No arguing Herlings was f*ckin' amazing and worked everyone today, and I will never argue that anyone but him should have won, but I think the real show down will be next week at the GP. Whether you like it or not Tomac had a lot to lose by trying to run with Herlings, whether he could or not I don't know but it was not worth it.

Herlings is the man. Last to first. Absolutely incredible. Has that been done in the big bike class before? I mean ever? I know Carmichael and Stewart did it on the 125, but the premier class is a different story.

If i would have to guess i would think that Musquin was more pissed with himself throwing it away and less to do with Herlings winning.

Absolutely deserved. MM25 had a 18 sec gap at JH. He doesn't lay 18 sec on the ground. At that time JH made already 10 sec

JH did what no one else would do. He stepped out and raced in another series. No one does that anymore! I was impressed that he actually showed up to race, but to go out and win it...damn! New fan!
Almost all the Euros ride other series besides the GP's. Smile

Who gives a shit how "humble" he was.

People on this forum have bitched about him for years because subconsciously they feared he was actually faster than AMA riders. He just flew over from Europe and raced his first national on a borrowed bike. Not only did he win the overall, but he was the man every time he started his bike.

And furthermore, he's taken so much shit for supposedly being a sandbagger and an asshole when in reality Tony Cairoli's ego had just as much to do with him staying down in that class than anything else did. Cairoli puts on the politician front though.

Holy shit, that was insane,Herlings could push lap after lap on this track with its wide open spaces

That reminded me of MXdN Lommel 2012 seeing him cut through the pack like that, unlucky for Marvin,I'don't love to see him and Roczen back at some GP rounds with Cairoli,Gajser etc

He was in 39th when he picked up his bike. In 25th after 1st lap.

Motocross in the USA is on life support thanks to Supercross. The emphasis on the pro level is Supercross (which I personally detest) which IMHO has had a a negative effect on the quality of pro motocross. Mucho respect to the Euro riders who have come to the USA and made the transition. To the GP fans who talk incessant BS I say fuck you!
