You could have fought with the plant man but took the higher road. Good on you and I'm a vegetarian (without grey eyes and bags under my eyes). I'm not fighting with my wife and kids ever again! Love this place sometimes.

Damn Kawbro that's gnarly! You must be built like a brick shit house! Hope all is well in your life now man.

As for JS I really hope he comes back but I'm not sure I could stand to see him come back and continue to crash, not saying that's the way it would go but it's a very real possibility. The past few years of him racing and especially last year was painful to watch. I just hope the guys enjoying the spoils he's earned.

No stress, I have money, great kids, and am pretty chilled out. They said there was nothing i could have done to change what happened to me. A virus made the heart swell and disrupted the electrical impulses from getting to the bottom of the heart causing the heart to not pump. My wife woke up at just the right time and saved my life at midnight. Only 2% of the people that have what I had live, because somebody has to pump you and then you have to be defibrillated to get the electrical going again. They pumped on me for 30 minutes, shocked me 7 times put me in a coma for a week. The swelling from all that tore up the mitral valve, they thought I needed a pig valve to repair but were able to fix it without replacing it. Sudden Cardiac Arrest is what it's called, the heart stops pumping, it is not hereditary or food related. A heart attack is when an artery that services an area of the heart muscle plugs and that area of the heart begins to die from lack of blood supply, that is from foods, hereditary and so forth.

My recommendation is man just wake up and enjoy each day, you can't change anything and your life just like the rest of ours is gonna be ok. Your gonna eat every day, have a roof over your head and if your nice enough will have some really good people in your life. You can't change yesterday, don't know what tomorrow is gonna bring so just enjoy today......don't waste time. I don't fight with my wife or kids or friends, if I die tonight I can't imagine the pain they would live with knowing that a fight was the last thing we had together, so I don't waste any time!

Its a shame he put a smudge on his career over the last few years of racing....you could tell he wasn't putting the work or training in. Not that anyone will ever question what he did for the sport as a whole......but those that never got to watch those early years have an all together different perspective of him as a racer. Like you say, it wasn't just that he wasn't on top of his game, it started to get embarrassing. Stewart was always an epic crasher, even when he was running with the leaders, but when he started up an quitting mid-race continually is when I started shaking my head. In the early days he'd be the fastest guy on the track, or he'd wreck trying, but towards the end of his career I really felt he decided he'd rather quit than not be the fastest guy on the track. All the people on this forum thinking that he is just gonna come outta the woodwork and start competing for championships have no clue what it takes to race. Stewart already tried coming back utilizing only raw ability, the cold truth is, he simply can't compete with these guys week in and week out anymore. Father Time is very real, and unless you have a staggering work ethic/regimen that will carry you into your mid 30's, once that edge starts to slip, you'll never get it back.

It's all good! Smile this place is fun to me. I go back to when this place first opened its doors to the retched dregs of society. Couch, Ol' Ger, xmikex, Appleman, Hillbilly, Bobbym, Bauer, Kardy, DC and others. Sometimes it's like a Popsicle Stand, a Kissing booth where the kisses are over priced and kinda sloppy, Messin With Sasquatch tv commercials and Comedy Central on a fun night but it's always like Cheer's the tv show! A mostly male eclectic collection of personalities with a couple of crazy/cool chics thrown in the mix where in every trivial to big topic is beat up to the max. To me it's always been fun, that's why I keep coming back.

I would bet that if Guyb rented Cycle Ranch for the weekend for all the vital members, trucked in ice cold loads of Shiner and Lonestar beer, booked Metallica for Friday and Saturday night, had organized practices using the gate for starts all weekend. Any of us could walk around and you could have some cool interactions with everyone there, snag a burger from anyone, man even the vegans would share their falafel salads and cucumber smoothys. For the next month nobody would quit smiling from ear to ear!

I don't believe James will be back for a full SX or MX season. Maybe Monster Cup or Redbull straight Rhythm.

I'm 110% in on the Cycle Ranch party with plenty of ice cold Shiner Bock and Lonestar longnecks...and lets not forget catering done by Franklin's BBQ!! Hell, yes! Even those boring old vegans and "plant people" around here would have a big smile on their faces eating Franklin's ribs and brisket...then on Monday they could (like you said) go back to their tree bark and johnson grass. We'd all have a great time! Full scale hoot. It would give me all the excuse I need to drive down to my home state and kick up some dirt. Heck, I bet Diamond Don Rainey would come onboard to do a vintage race too!

How about it, Steve? Can we, huh...huh? Tongue

kkawboy, holy sh!t glad to hear you are still kicking.

54 is way too young. If you don't mind can you elaborate on why you think you've experienced heart rate failures at such a young age? I ask because I'm having some issues myself and I believe mine are 100% related to stress. I'm a stressed business owner and I believe I remember hearing you are as well? If yes, do you feel the stressful work-a-holic lifestyle was the major cause of your condition? Or, was it a combination of a bad diet, no exercise, stress, etc? How was your diet? Do you smoke?

Let me know. I've always been really healthy, active, and my diet it is very good. But stress and working 18hrs a day has overpowered all of that. I'm currently in the process of working my way back out of the hole that I dug for myself.

With your heart condition, are you able to exercise and get your heart rate maxing out like you used to when you were younger? Let us know your situation if you don't mind.

If he shows up at the start gate then awesome. If not, I don't even give a shit anymore. The empty talk and rumors got old extremely fast. The motocross boy who cried wolf.

That's the best plan I've heard in a long time! No offense to Texas though, but the Chaney ranch would be closer to us west coasters for a "Vital Rock n Ride Weekend" Smile Bitchen place to cut loose and have fun. Great plan!
Glad to hear youre feeling good kkawboy,..health issues really suck in the scope of our life plans, but I guess sometimes they can also help shape things up with a wakeup call too.
Bomber...I work in engineering also (different type), but if your stressing for 18hrs a day, time to regroup and realize that you need to hire better,..you're only as good as the people you surround yourself with, and that goes for the company as well. Double checking your folks work is different than having to go over every aspect of it.
As a 49yr old father of 4, I can relate to James wanting to chill with the newborn. If he returns to go out better than he did, that should be his prerogative, but he has nothing to prove to anyone but himself in the end. As I sit on a transplant list for a kidney, the perspective has changed. I think back to how many years went by working and juggling racing and all the kids' different activities,...No regrets, but sure wish I had some of that time back...None of us should be "done yet"..... I eat everything. Healthy , non-healthy and I eat a lot for my frame size. I was always told that a person's metabolism is just like any muscle....you have to keep it in check and make it work , otherwise....it forgets how to work properly.

All that aside....KKwaboy , I'm glad to hear you're doing better and living each day as if it were your last. I wish more people would act like that. It'll change your perspective and make you feel more appreciative of every passing moment. I'm guilty as hell as far as having work , run my life. I can't see a way out of it just yet , but hopefully one day.

Thx! A lot of people are selling everything living in RVs now because they just don't want the stress. A friend of mine just sold everything and got a Class A motor home for 18k, he's about to quit Dell Computers here in Austin. Him and his wife are going to take a year traveling and kayaking around America. If he gets in need of money he's gonna do some remote work out of his motor home.

Right Smile

Way to kill a good Stewart bashing thread Smile

The Stewart's are doing their deal. Nobody knows how much those big head impacts have affected James thinking and his family's feelings towards living on the edge.

How bad would these guys feel if they found out James is seriously messed up from the crashes, that wrist alone wasn't looking good. I raced a lot of years with Big James, Chisholm's dad, Renner's dad......all those kids have been busted up and pushed the edge enough for me to be happy with whatever they do!
