I know it's early but who would you pick for the team this year with the way the season is going? I'd got ET3 BB4 and ZO16

Same. I'm not sure how it could be anyone but those 3 at this point. No one else can even make a legitimate argument against those 3.

BB4 got lapped while JA21 won his last moto at MXDN, I could see JA getting the spot before BB. Smile

Whoever is first and second in points in the 450 class when the decision needs to be made and top points in the 250 class have earned the right to represent the U.S.
Right now that'll be BB4, ET3, and ZO16.
If it stays how it is now, I'd take JA21 as the alternate.

That said, considering JA21's ride last year, I wouldn't mind if he got one of the main spots. He proved himself completely and would represent.

MX1 Tomac
MX2 Osborne
Open Anderson

If anything happens to those riders:

MX1 Grant(if he is healthy)
MX2 Covington(yes i know, a wild card but he has been really good lately)/JMart
Open Baggett

Anyways, i will be rooting for USA this year. It's time for a win.

Zach rode for Puerto Rico in 2010, so should have to stay riding for them.

AMart rode for Puerto Rico twice and he was able to ride for USA in 2016 so that isn't a problem.

MX2 baguette (on form. We know heCan ride a 250)
MX3 Anderson (because last year he got the job done, but was unfortunate it ended like it did).

Yeah the sand isn't really an excuse. Baggett would have been lapped in 6th place at Glen Helen as well.
By the way Dungey was 10sec short of being lapped.
But the sand plays no role in this, those Americans are just slow

Anderson and Osborne for sure
I was just going to say the same thing. If Anderson wants to go, put him on the team. He's riding well and lucky to be riding after last year's mxdn.

I don't care much for Tomac dropping out last year for non injury reasons. I wouldn't want him.

Baggett
Osborne
Anderson

Anderson and Osborne for certain, then I'd choose between BB and Tomac based on who "wants" it more. I'd rather have a highly motivated BB with something to prove than Tomac with a case of the fuckits. A motivated Tomac is hard to pick against though.

Eli is a terrible choice, he decided to not race last year simply because he didn't want to. That doesn't tell me he's gonna give 100%. And all I've seen from him is he's either the fastest guy on the planet, or falling on his ass and not pushing as hard as he can. I like Tomac, but no effing way should he go to the mxon.
Anderson may not have the outright speed of Tomac, but he proved last year he can win. And we know he has the heart.
Osborne is an obvious choice.
Bagget should get the open ride, assuming he can keep this level of speed he's (re)found.

MX1 Tomac just the fastest out there
MX2 Osborne , has raced the euro tracks etc
Open Anderson did awesome job last time

and like always the top favorites to win

Baggett has been showing the ability to minimize damage when the beginning of a moto goes badly. That's important in the MDXN.

Baggett has also shit the bed every time he's gone. Whereas Tomac was one of the fastest guys there every time he has gone.

Not exactly a race where you want to risk bringing someone who has shown they can't get it done on that stage. ET and JA have proved they can.
