I don't agree with it and I root for him. When he was only about 2 seconds behind james when james uncorked this crazy step on step off thing in that table top section. It took a few laps and Chad tried it and he did it well. He didn't try it again. It kind of pissed me off.
Chad Reed is a great rider but he just has never had quite the fire in his belly that Stewart or RC had. Chad never even TRIED to race RC outdoors, James was willing to kill himself - literally - to beat RC. Even though he didn't consistently beat him, James pushed RC harder than anyone ever has.
That's just who they are as racers. That's why I was skeptical when so many people were saying Chad would hand James his ass this year.

at least the lites class saved the day.

Not to sound critical because I think Stewart is one of, if not the best, rider that this sport has ever seen. Your post is very logical other than the fact that the fire in Stewarts belly causes James to ride to far over the edge which translates into his high ratio of crashes.
Reed on the other hand very rarely crosses over that edge of comfort which translates into not crashing very often. As always, Stewart is on a mission and second in not acceptable and Reed is playing a game of poker betting that the fire in James belly gets him into trouble. Both are very different and both are two of the best riders that this sport has ever seen.
I am fan of reed and have met him personally and have to say he is a very nice man. Treated my entire family like a gentleman and was never rude or did he ever show "a better than you" attitude. We tried to meet James a couple years ago and lets just say that since then I have my own opinion of the "JS team." James has seemed to mature this last year and has gained a bit of humilty and quite frankly has become likable, which is welcome. The young man is insanely fast on a dirt bike and I have always liked watching him ride, just now it is more enjoyable.
This is no different in our sport than in other sports. What made Clemente so likable to fans while Barry Bonds turned many off, both great players? Jordan and Rodman... McEnroe and Connors... etc etc etc. Exceptional skill, approachablilty and humility... that is what makes the greats... not to the record books, but to the fan!
To stay a "hater" of anyone "because" is the real annoyance of many on this site. Lincoln once said... “I do not think much of a man who is not wiser today than he was yesterday.” Think about it....
true that
Do you guys ever listen to the stuff you post? It's ridiculous. What makes you all think that you know Reed so well?
Pit Row
No shame in that.
He didn't get to be the second fastest rider in the world by "not having fire in his belly" as some of you claim. He can ride over the edge all he wants but Bubba is just plain faster and will win most of the time.
All it takes is one bobble and a non starting bike for Bubba to lose the whole thing to Reed.
I say ride on the edge.....put it in on James in a corner or two and win a couple races.
I think that would be the most gratifying thing for Reed right now. Im sure Suzuki thinks otherwise though.
where did I say I dont believe he's following team orders.
I think Chad is definately thinking very hard as to why he hasnt been able to get in front of James.Obviously.
Roger told him not to ride out of his comfort zone and to finish 2nd.... True story
