Imagine a supercross series where most of the stars race the entire series. If you build it, they will jump it. If they come up short they can go to the hospital or just keep on riding. The choice is yours really. I might include that the majority of the fans, non-riders/racers don't know the difference between a safe track...

How about something that's about 1/4 the width, not covered and won't kill you if you hit it. Think highway concrete divider shape. It will deflect instead of stopping.

Just a quick check, 6 of the top 10 in Anehiem 1 were not even in the race in St. Louis. Have to admit that I didn't do the research to find out why they weren't there but it's still something to think about.
