why the hell do they make it so the hay bail covers can come off? and why haven't they fixed it before the 1000th person got one wrapped up in their rear wheel? they need to space em out a little so riders can re enter and keep em the fk off the track!!! really though. shit bums me out about trey.

So say they make them not come off. Here is a scenario for you:

Guy who hits the tuff block hooks it with his peg, and drags it out into the track right in front of the triple. He gets away clean, but the guy behind him is already commited and hits the block going off the jump, sending him into an endo. This guy gets hurt (aka, Nico Izzi heel break type of injury or worse) for not doing anything at all wrong.

I'm not saying they shouldn't work on the covers (in fact, I think it is a good idea), but I think any decision needs to be carefully considered until they can come up with the best solution.

So have the Tuff Blocks a material that can have the logo right on it, no cover.

Make them out of paper.

They'll still come off when needed rather than drag a block into the track.

They'll disintegrate in a rider's wheel causing no harm.

They can be used to heat shelters for the homeless or make a nice paper airplane to toss from the upper deck.

Not a bad idea, I like track and trails paper idea as well. That would allow them to hit it and take alot of the risk of dragging it out away.

It would help if they could figure out a way to stake them down without leaving dangerous exposed stakes. How about driving a couple of stakes in under where the tuff block will sit, and then when you place the block you loop the straps around the stakes to keep them from moving (although they would still tilt and flex)

They make tough blocks that your shoulder will hit before your footpegs if your leaning over to far in a corner preventing covers from being ripped off. This is to expensive for Feld.

I think for one there needs to be better placement of the tuff blocks. I have seen many riders being saved by them so they are good to have. I don't think you need to have them going up a jump. The covers are definitely something they need to get rid of. You just can't risk having something stuck in a riders wheel. Just stupid.

Get rid of tuf blocks altogether. The track will be wider too. Replace the blocks with some sort of lane dividers for advertising space if it's essential to the running costs (i.e profit) and get back to some sort of bunting. I know it still gets caught up in your wheels (been there done that!). but at least it takes away two scenarios of been landed on or clipped onto the track. We can put people on the moon for fuck sake (or used to when there was money in the bank), surely we don't need a noble prize winner here to come up with an alternative.

I doubt they would go to tough blocks with the logos printed on them.. I always assumed the covers were used incase they lose or add a sponsor. Take the old cover off and reuse the same block in order to keep spending money on blocks.

How about something that's about 1/4 the width, not covered and won't kill you if you hit it. Think highway concrete divider shape. It will deflect instead of stopping.
