Since this is just dreaming...I'd like to see what Joel Roberts could do in his prime with today's equipment or just as good, how all the favorites mentioned would fare against him on the old iron and tracks.

I think you guys have missed the whole point and question . It's not for a title it's 1 moto balls to the wall speed. Sure RC and RV more titles but for 1 Moto of sheer speed you cannot go passed JS he might not make it through the second moto though

Very fun question/topic. Old school, no question - Bob 'Hurricane' Hannah. He didn't get that nickname for nothing. 80's - Rick Johnson. Before Storbeck landed on him and ruined his wrist, he was destroying the field. 90's - McGrath OWNED Supercross. 2000's RC early. But having seen all of those guys race and win, I've NEVER seen a guy go faster on a Motocross track than Bubba. Yeah, he was prone to crashing, but as far as 'fast for one moto', I doubt any man has EVER gone faster on a Motocross bike, including Everts, Villo, Dunge, Roczen, et al.

Yep. This right here. For one moto, pure speed, NO ONE beats James. I've watched a LOT of races and racers over the years. Going WAY back. I've never seen anyone faster than Bubba if you're only talking pure speed on a Motocross bike. Yep, even faster than RC.

I'm a massive Bubba fan but outdoors he beat RC in only a handful of motos and usually something had to happen to RC for it to happen. Bubba was the only one to push RC in his four stroke days but rarely beat him. Bubba never had a 1-1 against RC outdoors expect for 2006 Glen Helen when RC crashed out... after he passed bubba.

Indoors I would take Bubba every time, at his peak he literally toyed with his competition. He could mess with RC and then drop him. He could get bumped off the track in a short heat race by MC ironically and still come back and win over Reed from dead last. IMO of course, but prime Bubba indoors is the best by a wide margin. For a season it might be a different story, although I don't think anyone has had a better SX season then 2007 bubba.

One rider in their prime for one moto ? RC 15 championships, 150 wins. Pick any year he was in his prime his entire career. He cruised to the finish in half those races with a 30 second lead.

Yep I agree. RC once said he just kept JS in sight & kept the pressure on him, cause he knew he would get tired. Both have gone 24-0 RC almost 3 times, I don't care how much faster you are than the field, that's still hard to do. Don't think it will ever happen again!

I'd like to see Robbie Reynard, injury free and on it.

Most here mention RC in his prime. We've had a chance to see it for a couple of years and he was demolishing the field. He would do it again, no doubt about that.

I have seen him on a 125, def kills it, but rv, rc on 450. Not even close, 450 to much of a advantage. RV mxdn race at Budds was unreal. . All same cc, the list could change.
