Erin Bates needs to shut her trap when riders are coming off the track hurt. I know that's her job, but who wants a microphone stuffed in their face when they have crashed and are hurt. You could hear the disappointment in Helper's voice, poor guy. This is his career and it is quickly getting shorter and shorter because of injuries.

I think he said his wrist was hurting. I guessed he'd only make it through practice, so he did better than I thought. Really sucks, I like watching him, wish he didnt make the little mistakes.

If anyone TiVo'd that, take a look at the jump landing just before the crash in slo-mo. It looks like me may have broken his arm or wrist before he actually crashed. Not sure but in one frame his hand is on the bar but his arm is at a pretty weird angle.

I guess everyone has ADD weekends where shit goes bad. Focus goes to shit because the head isn't there. Even the best. Remember Stewart and the Tedesco/Preston weekend.

But Hepler, although a great rider and good guy has way too many. Gotta worry about the guy.

No, that is hist throttle hand in a panic rev. He may have hurt the same hand when he smacked the ground though.

CBS may have missed mentioning it, but directly after the Hepler crash footage someone else went down hard. I don't know who it was but right after this part that is seen in this clip and the race seen resumed someone got tossed. By the looks of the standing, Coisy may have been the guy. May have to slowmo if you have the video

He prolly jammed his wrist at most although it was a hard hit to the ground I was more worried on arms and shoulder from the impact, when he got up he moved both perfectly fine no hesitation. I think he will be back next week.

When I broke my back, I "got up and moved perfectly fine no hesitation" too . . . for a minute. Looks can be deceiving. Some guys hurt their pinky and lay on the floor until they get stretchered off. Some guys snap their femur and walk off under their own power.

He's always fast and looks good even after he's been out for a while. He just doesn't ride for very long.

I'd say he gets the biggest could have been award. When he was on a suzuki and healthy he absolutely hauled ass, kept up with stewart and spanked RV. The video of him at millville on GTO industrial strength is amazing.

he beat rv 3 times in a row but on the yamaha near the end of the 06 season .that suzuki was a dog and once he got on the yamaha his true speed showed. kind of like millsaps too. sucks he has such potential just to get hurt and start all over again. we will pobably never see his true potential

Not walked off but I've seen 2 femurs broke while the rider was on the bike and just pulled over and waved for help.

no, he was still on a suzuki. Go watch industrial strength again. He's never gotten to show true speed on a yamaha besides his one moto win at steel city. His rookie year in 04 he finished 2nd behind bubba in nearly all of the SX races, then when Ronron and he were battling at the first two rounds, Broc was only a couple bike lengths back from those two.
