Gameplay is little better than it was before. 125cc sounds horrible, like some amateur was record and mix that sound.
And where is qualifying races?
There is no soul in this game.
4/10
Look what other players says about this game on steam forum and you see :D
I did get allot of "mud" races in a row in carreer mode, it's fun for a while but i prefer the cleanest version of the tracks the most for hard racing!
For those on PC, one user posted a resolution fix in the Steam forums (with mixed results). Haven't bothered myself as I think it looks fine but each to their own.
Re: Physics . Do you still come to an almost complete stop when over jumping sometimes. That was a pet peeve of mine from MXGP1.
There were a few jump on some tracks that would sky you out a bit and landing them even with the throttle pinned would just kill the revs and all forward momentum.
Get me off the WoW addiction for a while. Might see some of the old Reflex peeps (disbanded etc).
If you didn't like the other MXGP games i'd say don't bother, this ain't gonna win you over.
Pit Row
I'll stick give it a crack, thanks to for EB games 7 days money back guarantee.
Okay, this is going to be a deal breaker for some of you: The whips are still canned, however, the aerial physics are "looser". This isn't as big deal for me as it is for some of you.
The mud/rain races are fun. It's not just a visual effect, the bike handles and hooks up totally different from a dry track. It takes a different approach to get around the track fast.
I disagree strongly with others concerning this: The terrain detail is much improved. Still, some of the tracks that are supposed to be sand look like hard pack, and vice versa. Again, much better than 1&2 but not perfect. The ruts are also not just a visual effect. If you can get in a rut you will rail a corner (oh, and the inside corner is still legit in this game unlike MXvsATV).
As others have pointed out, the game seems faster, but not "arcadey". The speed doesn't take away from the realism of the game, it just seems to make it more fun. I always say this, and end up regretting it later, but the AI is improved. It's "smarter" and faster. No more getting taken out in the inside line. If you get there first and establish it, it's yours. I got taken out only twice in about 10 motos but both times I had it coming.
The bad: Still can't figure out what the devs are thinking when designing the airborne physics. I know they are trying to keep the game play more realistic, but there's got to me a happy medium. In a lot of ways, I feel like I'm still playing MXGP2 in terms of the overall layout of the game as a whole, not a lot of new interface.
Is this game worth $50? If you are a fan of the series, absolutely. If you're a MXvsATV disciple...no. I will say this, and I know I'll get some backlash, but what the hell. If "Reflex" is supposed to be the standard bearer for MX games (according to some, and I'll include myself, I guess) then MXGP3 is as close to that as I've seen thus far.
For me, pros and cons so far are :
Pros:
Bikes sound better than they did in MXGP2
The track deformation is excellent, and the way you can use the ruts it's awesome
Cons:
Some of the tracks are garbage. I don't know what the hell they did to Matterley Basin, it's pretty bad, which is a shame because it was pretty close on MXGP2. Also, some jumps that are big jumps in real life are just tiny and pathetic on the game
The rider customisation is good and some new gear brands have been added, but on the whole the gear on there is the same gear that was on MXGP2. No new Fox/Thor stuff etc.
It's not as good to play in POV mode as the other two were, which I kind of expected, but is still disappointing
