Riding with contact lenses

Anyone else here ride with contact lenses? Do you ever get sweat in your eye then it's super blurry til you can take your goggles off and wipe your eyes and it ruins your race

Any tips?

Been riding with contacts forever. Haven't had sweat drip in and mess up my vision and for the most part, they've been pretty good. Definitely more sensitive to dust, of course. Mine actually feel better when I'm sweating, they tend to dry out otherwise. Sometimes I just have to blink a lot.

Hmm, maybe need to blink more, only had them 3-4 years but it's a problem that occurs maybe 1 in 3 races, not every time. I never have problems with them going try

I keep some rewetting drops in my cooler at the track and before I go out a couple drops of cool solution seems to do the trick for me. I can't say I've ever had sweat get in the eye but dust does dry them out quicker.

Same here. Never had an issue. Maybe try another gogles, with more absorbing foam? I get sweat in my eyes during bicycle rides, but on the motorcycle the gogle foam absorbs the sweat.

Had contacts for 33 years. Contact rewetting drops are like the lifesource for me when I'm riding. I never had much trouble with them even when i wore sun glasses instead of goggles. Finally bought a set of glasses as spares and cannot even fathom riding in them.

I wore contacts for a number of years when riding. I would get dizzy when I rode with glasses. Then 12yrs ago I had laser eye surgery, and all has been well since.

I remember using drops a fair bit, after a long day, my eyes would dry out. I don't recall having too much of an effect from sweat though.

I do remember being late getting ready for a race, I would fill up my bike, then say, Shit, forgot to put my contacts in. Still remember the feel of gas in my eye from residual on my hands.

Note to self, always put your eyes in before you fill your bike. Ha!

I've ridden with contacts and glasses and they both have their ups and downs.

Contacts are nicer and easier to see peripherals, but will dry out possibly, and I've gotten dirt in my eye and had to pull off the trail to fix them.

My glasses fit nicely under my RaceCrafts and I wear them sometimes when I forget my contacts. They won't ever fall out or stop me from riding, but I'm a little weary about hitting jumps with the possibility of crashing and getting some sharp plastic in my eyes.

I would say to try a different set of goggles, I've never had sweat drip down my face inside the goggles.

I've ran contacts for years. The trick to keep sweat out of your eyes during motos in hot weather is to run the womens pads on the top foam that sits on your forehead. Pretty sure theyre panty liners.so its a little awkward buying them but they soak up all the sweat. All the goggle guys that come to the tracks for nationals have them prepped with those and it helps alot.

I've been riding with my contacts in for years, never using eye drops or anything, but I also keep my contacts in for months at a time.

My biggest problem isn't sweat, but airflow. I have a couple different pairs of goggles I use each day, my main pair is 100% and my other pair is Spy. the 100% let a lot more air flow through the padding and will dry my contacts pretty quickly on a faster track. The Spy goggles feel pretty much sealed up and don't let any air flow through

I have contacts and also prescription inserts, the inserts are great as you can move them from goggle to goggle.
Plus you can get a blended lens I got mine from Sport RX I believe they are in FLA. Great customer service and you can also get a deal on some new goggles.I do like contacts if it is not dusty but that is rare in the summer!

My biggest issue is the first lap when the air first starts to hit them they want to dry up but after that I'm good. Guess putting drops in right before would help me with that like someone had mentioned. Riding and contacts aren't ideal but it's better then riding without them.

I use airbrakes and wear contacts, no issues ever. I use drops when working on the computer but no need when I am riding.

I couldn't race with them as they kept drying up before the motos were over. I used Pro-Vue goggle lenses for a bit before I had Lasik surgery. That surgery was one of the best decisions I ever made.

I rode with contacts for a number of years. Never really had much problems with them. I've had issues where my eyes got dry because of the dust and on one occasion I had one pop out/came out of place so I had to pull over and slowly ride back to the truck. It happened due to excessive blinking because my eyes were dry. Fortunately that happened on a practice day and not during a race.

The tricky part was removing and putting it back in without my contact case or solution. Not to mention no clean surface to do it.

I got the intralase sbk eye surgery procedure done back in 2015 and it was by far the best money I ever spent. I wake up and I immediately see the alarm clock. Perfect 20/20 vision. Only regret is not having it done sooner.

I have been using contacts riding for about 10 years, with no real issues. I use Acuvue 2's for day to day, and when I am going riding I throw in a pair of The daily throw aways so I do not scratch my regular contacts....cheaper this way.

Never that problem. Used to dry out and pop out a long time ago. Talk to optician try diff brands and sizes. Couldn't imagine how bitchen it would be to not have vision issues racing. Only time it bothers me. Scared of Lasik

I've been using RGP(hard) 16mm contacts due to my condition Keratoconus I found them much better than soft lenses as the RGP have saline between the eye and the contact which is good for moisture and they are stuck on the eye due to suction I also put drops on them from time to time just in-case.

Still doesn't make my once perfect vision 100% though I still see double or ghosting but its bearable and the best option for my condition.

I have worn glasses since I was about 8, I have pretty bad eyes ( luckily my script has been the same for years now so hopefully don't get much worse ).

I raced some pro stuff all over the world in the 00's and wore glasses the whole time because I couldn't handle contacts, but my glasses would fog easy in indoor stuff, etc. looking back now I know for a fact it hindered my performance when I was at my peak, wish I could go back and change it.

ANYWAY, 2 years ago I snapped and couldn't handle glasses anymore riding, I had enough, so I tried literally probably 10 different contacts until I found a pair that didn't bug me and I could see well in, and holy shit its changed my life lol, literally.

I am wearing the day and night ones that you can just leave in, I usually take them out after a dusty day at the track, but otherwise I will leave them in for while, only issue I ever have is getting dry and blurry sometimes but it goes away quickly with drops or blinking a bunch.

I wear Vonzipper beefy goggles and have had almost zero issues with stuff getting in them, they have pretty thick foam and have a big range of view, I like them.

I wear contacts but have very sensitive eyes. I've had to pull out of a moto due to the dust. Tried riding with glasses a few times too. Whatever you do don't race at night with glasses. Mine fogged up on me and I couldn't see shit. Talk about dangerous!

Never knew I had bad eyes until I applied for a Pro license and got a physical. Got glasses and it ruined my speed, I could actually see all stuff that I used to blast through and I swear it slowed me down. Years later got contacts and they have been mostly trouble free, even now when I use only one for distant vision. They used to dry out on the Waverunner due to more airflow from no goggles (sunglasses) and higher speeds.

Besides being more sensitive to dirt and dust as already mentioned, I haven't had any issues (knock on wood). Having Lasik done in a few months hopefully.

I remember back in '04 when you were winning your heat race at the Bukkake Supercross in China. But your goggles were so full of cum and you couldn't see and you washed the front end 2 turns before the checkers.. But I'm happy it's not a problem for you anymore and you can see clearly now.
