Hands down my favorite was the SX race when he had an issue with his shifter and would shift it with his hands while in the air. How much more determination can you have. He will be missed.

For me personally in all the years of 450 outdoors this was Ryan's most up and down season IMO and showed some amazing diversity and resiliance on his part.

I believe if Dungey doesn't run out of gas at Freestone things turn out differently but you could say the same about Reed and chadapult.

To me it was an incredible season and the one I'll remember the most for Dungey.

1st supercross (think it was the first) on a 450 chasing James Stewart to finish a close second. No one saw that coming.

Watching him at Thunder Valley in 2010 for the MXDN was killer.

That's saying something about Barcia. Barcia worked Dungey there. Just shows the potential Barcia has in him. I look for him to bounce back this outdoors

First for me it was the 2008 East-West shootout in Vegas where Dungey chased down and passed Villopoto for one of the few times for the win. Next would be his 450 opener in Supercross at Anaheim one where he led JS7 for most of the race until James got by with about three laps to go and surprisingly(it being his first race in the class) Ryan made a last lap charge to almost get by JS7. 2013 Minneapolis supercross where he battled RV2 for the win was really fun! Also, 2014 MX opener at Glen Helen where Kenny led almost every lap of both motos with Ryan just behind, and then on the very last lap Ryan makes a Vet move on the rookie and passes Kenny with about 2 corners to go for the overall win. Those are some that came to mind but there are more for sure.

Vegas SX 07 and 08 he ran down RV both times
2009 Millville where he crushed Pourcel over 30 seconds
2009 Des Nations in Italy
2010 A1 Him and Stew
2010 Red Bud When him Chad n Townley battled back and fourth
2010 Des Nations LakeWood where he went 1-1-1 versus AC
2011 Freestone Millville Southwick and Washougal

Way too many to name

Dungey raced a few 450 races in 08 in only his 2nd season as a pro and went 10th,4th,2nd in his first 3 450 races

Southwick was huge. I saw on here, someone said that ride was overrated, and that lots of guys have come through the pack, but it wasn't like he fell in the first turn and got up only seconds behind, he was nearly a lap down. It really was an amazing ride.

Seeing these pics and videos just makes me wish all the more that he was out there racing. Tomac is going to win a lot, outdoors. I think Dungey would have been the only one to offer a serious challenge and so I think there are going to be some boring races. I've switched my attention to the MXGP class and am pretty excited to see Herlings mix it up with Cairoli and the GP boys.

Dungey is a great rider, champion, and role model.

Not even close to my favorite champion. My best memories of Dungey are when Villopoto chased him down, passed him, and won the championship.

Having said that, congrats to Dungey on all his success and best wished for post MX/SX career.

My favorite moment is that he retired. There has never been a champion with better luck.

Washougal 2012. Not his best race results wise, but the risks he took trying to pass Alessi showed some real heart and determination. Almost jumping in the fence lap after lap.

Hahaha! I told my wife that somebody would use that quote to hide behind!

Dungey has been very lucky in his entire career. I'm not saying he did not work for it....he did. But still, the luckiest guy in ax/mx history.

And, by far, the most boring.

I don't need to "hide behind" an accurate saying. Yes Dungey has had some good fortune. So has every other champion before him and so will every champion that comes after him.

This is it right here. Damnedest thing I ever saw in racing. Captured everything about this guy. The ability and speed to come back from that, the determination, the family support, the heart of a champion when others would've packed it in and blamed the team.

Not as boring as this post....

Watch Washougal, not sure of the year, Arvee is wearing the camera and RD took the hole shot...Arvee has some great footage of just how boring Dungey is....

Check it out...
