Did he beat RC or Bubba either of those years? Honestly? I know he barely beat out Windham for one of those, but I'm not sure if Bubba or RC were there or healthy for either of those? I'll always remember Chad best for back in 02' I think? where he said he would beat Bubba if he started with him. Well he didn't start with him but Bubba was nice and after gaining a big lead he was nice enough to wait for Chad and let him pass. He then promptly caught him a half lap later and gapped him......on a 1 2 5. But back to the question has Chad ever beat either straight up in a series?
Reedy left home and his parents to live in another country when he was 15. Now he's a 2 time AMA champ, Aussie ledgend loved and admired by millions, has a hot Mrs, and is a multi millionare to top it all off.
He put his name is in the history books and will be remembered as a champion for enterinty. You?

I'm not much of a Dungey fan, but then, I don't have to be in order to respect the bloke for what he has accomplished.
Dungey did it with his parents behind him every step of the way. Chad left his in Oz.

As frustrating as I imagine it is, might be best to get ya hand off it and let it grow by itself mate.
Only person you "beat", is yourself.

Ask your Dog, I'm guessing he's not only faster, but also has a higher IQ than you.

You beat yaself off in front of a mirror don't you.

No I gots me a real pretty Sheila for that mate. My pug hauls ass on foot, but I could smoke him on a dirtbike all day. He actually can't even ride one sadly enough. Please ease up on the burns too mate, that last one about my dog having a higher iq then me hurt mate. So be cool ok mate? Who you got for the Outdoors? Do you think Reed can pull it off over Eli and Dungey if he races? I have Baggett and Musquin as my dark horses. But I do believe with the right conditions Reed could get a moto win or overall on that Factory Yami. Can't wait until Saturday.

Ya why have a young guy out there, when you can have a 35 year old backmarker (yes two lucky podiums) racing Sx only and doing a below average job at it? Your right a Justin Hill, Aaron Plessinger, Shane McElrath or Adam Cianciarilo dont deserve a Sx AND Mx ride under the factory tent. But let Reed have another year only getting involved in the championship when he's getting lapped or when Eli is purposely holding up the field. Plus the guy has cried more about shit over his career than a teenage girl who got dumped.
Not for nothing, but Webb smoked all those dudes you mentioned the last few years and Chad was still better than Coop this series so maybe hold back on the he's no use talk.

3 Time actually, plus an AMA regional championship. He is a living legend for sure.

Reed has had an awesome career but it's kinda painful to see him mid pack most races and getting lapped at some. Yes, he had a few really good races this last year and that was awesome to see the old Reed back on the box. More often then not though he seems to be fighting the bike, fighting himself, fighting other racers. He's been around the sport a long time and when you lose that edge, it's damn near impossible ever to find again.

Color me surprised he wants to return, but he did say he already has options. Suzuki is one of them, Yamaha isn't his only hope. I'm rooting for orange

I could see Dungey retiring, Baggett moving to Factory Ktm and Chad possibly going to BTO sx only with Burner as his "in" contact. I think Chad has multiple offers, and they are all depending on his decision with Yamaha and riding the bike first.

Fox/Fly has gotta be an issue there. That team is majorly tied with WPS/Fly... And Fox ain't dropping Reed I don't think.

Would love to see him on a steel frame tho... I bet he'd kill it.

Good point, then it very well could be factory ktm instead. Bto bikes are the same outside of exhaust and graphics

For realz. Reed still a top ten rider. Better than jgr and rch riders.
But we want to see Steward carted around the country in a big rig and pull over all the time.

Too bad Yamaha doesn't decide to move Plessinger on up and let Reed walk. I respect what Chad has accomplished in his career but have grown ever more tired of his shtick. There are a few guys that would get their retirement papers if I was a 450 team manager to make room for some young talent.

I hope he get off that blue turd. That bike has had zero success on a regular basis. Think about the riders that have got on that thing and struggled. Reed Stew Brayton Barcia just to name a dew.

Hope he get back on a yellow bike. Should suit his style best.

Pretty incredible that he was handing RC his ads in 03 when Dungey was still on 80's and he's still seems as hungry as ever. You cant hate on that.

Reed really does not get recognized enough for the unique path he has pursued. Elle is the only wife who has walked the entire path with her man, to my knowledge. Their story is noteworthy on many levels.

"Higher IQ "THAN" me". Ironic lol.

Obviously Tomac, other than that, BB #4, MM #25 and JB #51 are my pics. Anderson should do well, but I hope he doesn't. He's a punk.

Its Rocky Mountain KTM, and I think Reed would be better on one too. Much closer to his 2004 YZ250 then the new Yamaha 450.

Fingers crossed he goes orange or white.

Interestingly Anderson has committed to the aus-x sx in november, the last couple of years it has been his teammate Webb.....Maybe Anderson and Chad teammates in 2018!

Chads one of those guys that is good for your brand to have on your team. Cooper Webb is their guy for the future. Chad has the most fans in the stadium who follow him throughout the race and you hear them cheering when he passes someone while in 10th place. That means more people watching the Yamaha, more people at the Yamaha tent, more people looking at pictures of their favorite racer on a Yamaha. Even as a top 10 guy he's good for Yamaha.

There is no way in hell Reed gets a factory KTM ride, they'd give it to Baggett first, Roger don't play that SX only shit. Stamp it.

Don't bring those facts in here! Silly

It's actually quite funny how many people choose not to remember the many times Reed has beat Stewart straight up...

The only reason that Reed finished ahead of Webb was that Cooper missed some rounds with the shoulder injury. He was on it before that happened.

Perhaps, deep down, he feels like Yamaha is his only "factory" option. Also, saying he has other option's could be a negation tool and is hedging his bet.
