"Zach, we frown upon your championship winning pass and the media coverage it generated for us so we must punish your dangerous actions. On a lighter note, congratulations on your championship. Hard work really does pay off!"

In other news, the circus is officially shutting its operation down.

Pro Circuit threw out a hail Mary hoping for docked points and positions, they couldn't care less about the $$. The AMA wants no part of being on the shit list of two of the biggest teams in the pits, so they came up with what they thought was their easiest way out. Fine Zach a decent amount of cash so that PC can't say they didn't do shit about it, no way were they going to take points away and face the shit storm that would surely follow. This was all just a way to try and please everyone involved without being the bad guys.

That's probably the most realistic view point yet.

Man, had they docked Osborne positions, what a shit storm... and maybe some cheeky ads from Husqvarna with words like "A REAL Champion's Machine" Tongue

Osborne needs to drink a case of Rockstar and eat a dozen enchiladas before "packaging" up that $7500.00 for Gallagher. I've been complaining about the crooks and thieves at the AMA well over a decade. About time some of you other guys woke up....

Haha way to go...It's a part of the sport ffs. Oh well, the good part is that Zach most definitely can afford to pay the fine after his championship bonus.

I remember on one of the first behind the dream episodes from a a few years back, Jason Anderson got fined 20,000 and docked points for something, maybe tripling when the lights were flashing or something. The camera crew picked up Bobby Hewitt (then and now Husky team owner) saying "we got fined 20 grand" the way I would say I'm missing a couple quarters from my cup holder. No chance in hell Zacko paid that fine out of pocket.
From the AMA's point of view, I kinda get the fine. Joey left the door open sure but he also got cleaned out pretty aggresively and intentionally. I personally don't care, but the AMA might feel like they can't just let it slide completely or it'll be a WWE demolition derby instead a sport, but they don't want to interfere with the title. They just had to do something or other as a warning sign to others in the future to discourage blatant take outs. I don't neccesarily agree (and I'm glad Zach won), but I see their side of it.

I think it was shit move by Osborne even if the championship is on the line. If it was just a block pass I would think different but this was just a straight take out. He should receive the same punishment Savagy received for cutting the track after his crash the week before. He should have been docked positions, no worthless fines. Put him one position behind Savagy in the finishing order as if they had both gone down. They are setting a bad precedent letting Osborne get away with a take out that wins him the championship. What rider wouldn't trade a championship for a fine. It will only lead to this happening more and more and the final race of the season turning into a demolition derby. I feel like the AMA just kicked the can down the road when they had a chance to nip this in the bud and it will just become a bigger issue they will have to deal with later.

Husqvarna to Zack....Relax and bask in the glory of your championship, we'll gladly pay the fine. Thank you again, Team Husqvarna.

There it is.

Sad.

Got to try and keep all sides happy, there aren't enough safe spaces to go around. Most worrying this is the racerX poll is showing close to 50% support for the penalty (fine)....what is the sport and fan base coming to?

What is it coming to?

Dudes wearing thier girlfriends (or "significant other" to be all global and shit...) pants/skirt while plugging in their "e" smart-car at the all-organic neighborhood market next to their safe-space-juice-bar.

That's who is voting "not fair".

Amazing. Not sure how they make their random decisions, but a picture is worth a thousand words. Left side below is the angle at which grant made contact with Malcom. Middle is Zach coming in and starting to slide rear wheel. Right side is the angle at which Zach actually makes contact with Savatgy. They are almost parallel when he hits Savatgy. Which angle is worse? Especially considering one is for a Championship on last lap/turn and the other is an obvious retaliation followed up by a bird flip.

Amazing how:
People still think Zach "t-boned" or just took Joey out? If Joey checks up a little, he has a chance to block Zach back at the finish line. Look at the photos!

Inconsistent the AMA is. I get the politics of appeasing Procircuit. But what about consistency, integrity and being impartial??

On another note, i dont think anything goes on the last lap. Nor in a heat. Which is why Bacia and Grant should be treated the same. And what about Tomac - he intended to knock Dungey down. Dungey was just too smart. On the other hand Zach just went for the pass, when thing were really tight.

Here's the deal.
Racing incidents on the track that require enforcement should have penalties that effect the out come of the race, i.e points or positions deducted or DSQ. As the incident effected the result in the race.
Incidents that happen off the track but at the races should have penalties like fines or DSQ. I think that's pretty fair and clear cut way of doing things. Now, in saying that, I don't think Zac should have had any penalties handed down to him. Zac in that split second seen the championship and made a hard pass, sweet that's racing.
The #3 however is a different circumstance, He intentionally made contact with the #1 to directly effect the outcome of the race, three times. This should have been dealt with by loss of points..

WTF...it was either a good pass and Zack gets the title (which most of us agree is the case) ....or it was a bad pass and Savatgy gets the title. AMA is essentially saying that was a bad pass, but we'll give him the title anyways. That makes no sense. A fine is negative reinforcement to deter that rider from doing the same thing, he was fined for, in the future. Giving Zack the title is positive reinforcement encouraging him to do that exact same "manuever" if he ever finds himself in that situation again. How do you tell someone to never do that again.....but if you do, we'll give you the championship anyway? Fining him and awarding him the championship = Bipolar AMA!

BTW, I agree with giving Zack the title....not the fine. I think that was a heroic race by Super Zack Osborne!......and I feel gutted for Savatgy!

Hard pass yes, probably worthy of a fine. However, they need to be consistent. That's all we really ask is for consistency. It's bullshit ZO got fined when the same thing has happened at least a dozen times this year without even a slap on the wrist.

Absolutely ridiculous.

I hope Husqvarna steps up and takes care of this for Zach so it doesn't come out of his pocket..
