It was lame but I get the reasoning behind it. Props to RD for making it work

Thats fair. I didn't like it either, but I'll be honest I thought it was interesting to see him come up with that so late in the race with so much on the line.

That is not SX/MX racing. That is biker derby.

If you take out a racing during a pass to advance your position, that is aggressive racing. Good.

If you take someone out for the sole purpose of putting their bike on the ground so other bikes can pass them, that is biker derby and a different sport. Maybe each team should have 7 riders, with 6 of them just there to knock others off the track ???

Anderson ultimately saved the day. Reed was coming and he would've easily taken the chance to clean out Dungey. Monster woulda paid a nice bonus for it.

Great race. Most entertaining LV nite of racing ever imo.
Agree about reed. I'm sure monster has told Reed a few times this season that if he can do something to help Eli to do it.

If I were dungey I'd probably give Anderson $100,000. Saved his championship, cuz Reed was gonna knock him down. Anderson was dungeys last line of defense.

I like how Reed acted all cool at the end, but I think most of us realize what was going to happen there.

Agreed.

I still cant believe Dungey took the bait. So stupid from a usually composed/smart racer.

The difference was tomac kept doing it over and over and was slowing up on purpose so dungey would pass and then he ran into him and knocked him off the track multiple times. Osborne was different. It was the last corner and savagty was slow and Osborne was flying. Tomac was just flat out playing dirty games. That's not racing guys. That's trying to win by knocking your opponent off the track in purpose multiple times. I'm just glad dungey won because if tomac pulled off the championship by pulling that shit it wouldn't have been deserved at all. I'm not even going to debate it anymore. We all have our opinions and I know I am right. Lol
You're actually an idiot, what Tomac did was smart. You're defending Osbourne for taking out a rider and risking the safety of others and it's fine. Yet when Tomac uses a strategy to bunch up riders and bait dunge it's dirty? Where the fuck is your logic?
5/6/2017 10:43pm
He should have pulled an Osborne, it wasn't dirty.... he could have seriously taken him out and he didn't. You are a little bitch.

I dont know why he didnt put dungey on the ground there at the end. Whats the point in having everyone cry and bitch about you being dirty with those weak take outs.

smart man. I wouldve done the same. pourcel did it to dungey in 09, reed did it a number of times.

we're talking about the sx title here. not some backyard race. the TITLE, and shit load of money.

ponder this...would you slap you best friend for a million dollars???

yes?

then why would you not extend the same courtesy in a race???

Tomac said he wanted to make a statement...that would have been much more effective if he'd of just checked out and won by 20 seconds...then we'd all be saying that the fastest guy didn't win the title...now he looks desperate (which he was)...I'd have no issue with Eli cleaning him out while passing him...but passing him and then slowing down to try and clean him out (three times)? I'm not sure how I feel about that...
Agree 100%. I have been a Tomac fan since his incident with Wilson - in which he said that trying to take someone out was not racing. Then tonight, he pulls the same completely classless (chickensh*t) move - three times! Do people have no pride anymore? Dungey should have tackled him after the race and attempted to beat the living hell out of him.

That wasn't thought up late in the race. That was the strategy before the race started. Keep the field tight by not going fast and push RD into a tufblock in hopes the group will pass. Then JG would have drove him again into the tufblock.
Stevie Wonder saw that coming.

You are admitting that you are a complete whore. Probably too stupid to realize it, but that is the case. You would slap your best friend for a million dollars? What the hell has happened to pride?

Eli made that race a tough one for Dungey. Made for a tight race. I think both guys are class acts though. In all three block passes Eli did, he didn't put Dungey on the ground and every time Eli slowed down to let Dungey pass, Dungey could of "Barcia'd" Eli into the third row. Both guys battled right the the edge, while still being fair and respectful to each other.

Going forward, Eli will avoid the brain fart of a race he had last week and run away from the competition. He had the speed today to do that.

After the holeshot? Run away and hide.... he didn't have the speed for that. So that's on him.

Early in the race Tomac was on the gas. Dungey could've just let him go. But for some dumb reason he got all fired up and wanted to pass Tomac back. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. He shoulda just let Tomac go.

Then Tomac drops anchor. That's when Dungey found himself in a impossible situation. He shoulda either passed Tomac and ran (he didn't have the speed) when he had the chance or let his balls drop and get ready for a dog fight (which is basically what he did, he survived, luckily for him). As has been mentioned, Kawi's approach was premeditated. Dungey had to know this was coming. At this point I woulda maybe suggested dropping back to 4th but then Reed (Monster) showed up. That woulda been bad for Dungey. Like I said, it became a impossible situation.

That's a lot of thinking mid-race Im asking of Dungey but I hold him in pretty high regard in that dept.

Ryan owes Jason Anderson a lot for punting Reed. That pretty much saved the championship.

This came to mind as far as recent racing that had title implications. It's not like this is the first time a guy racing for champion$$$hips does what they have to do in the attempt to win. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

Tomac should of put Dungey in the cheap seats, but he kept it classy, because he is a class act and knows he is faster and had more wins than Dungey this season. He is the real Champion and Dungey knows it. Now Dungey will retire because he is scared to go as fast as Tomac and Dungey just needs to go home now. Dungey is done folks.

Amazing back-to-back main events. One of the best nights of sx/mx I've witnessed in 25 years. Eli was riding like a punk but what other options did he have? He did a masterful job of slowing the race from the front so as to bunch up the top 5-6 riders and imperil Dungey's 4th place must-finish. Anderson taking out Reed was fantastic; no other rider in MX deserves more to have his clock cleaned than the #22.

Don't you guys enjoy watching those highlights of Reed and Stew taking each other out? They still play those highlights on the broadcast today. That's exciting, that's racing. How boring would it have been if Tomac checked out and Ryan just cruised to another podium. YAWN.

Dungey owes a lot to Musquin and Anderson. Without them he would have lost. Motocross is a multiple team sport now.

I agree that Reed was coming like a blue missile. Anderson's t-bone just confirmed even more the kind of games KTM/Husky will play. Tomac had every right to do what he did. Bring on the outdoors and let's see him really shine.
