PWK carb swap, V-force reeds, FMF pipe, porting, you can add compression by getting the head milled or buy a VHM head. They are notorious for having airbox leaks so seal it using black weather strip adhesive or MX BONS makes a seal kit. I have one on my bike they are nice.. The stock carb can be jetted as well but a PWK swap is what I would do. The 125's benefit from airbox vents for more flow. A shorty silencer will give it more snap and add on bottom a longer silencer will add on top.

Your 02 has an earlier HPP engine, right? Big difference from the stock 02-07 engines.

I rode a 2005 CR125 that was bored to 134 and had basically no expense spared on motor work. It had about the same top end power as my stock YZ but not nearly as much bottom. But I do prefer the handling of the CR. The YZ is not the best turning machine.

JD Jet kit, V-Force reeds, Good pipe to go with a shorty and then a little exhaust porting will go along ways on one of these bikes.

Yes, currently running a '96 HPP top end. Have a stock bore & a 144
38 PWK carb
05+ intake boot
Boyesen reeds
03 KX125 OEM pipe
Pro Circuit shorty silencer
A few other things but that's the quick list motor-wise. SIn't as electric smooth as the newer KTM/HSKY but rode back to back it Z didn't feel he is lacking power wise and the results have shown it. I offered to buy him a new Husky but he declined as he has fun putting it to the newer YZ/KTM's. It's being retired to a play/ special race bike............

Always if the price is right? Let me know what you want shipped to Vancouver, WA 98665. Don't "need" but even if I don't I know a couple people who might if the price is right.........What's interesting is the 03 KX looks a lot like a 96 era Bills in shape except it has a longer stinger. It has a fat expansion chamber.............

That's cool to know about the KX pipe, I have a stock one from my 03 KX laying around I could try it on my 07 CR 125. I bleed CR red and my take on the 00-07 HPP CR 125's is stock they are mid range ONLY motors, they have no bottom end or over rev what so ever. The 05-07's are better once you get the jetting sorted out with the Mikuni. My 00 stock was slower then a herd of turtles and regretted not getting a YZ. No matter what it will take work to the 05-07 CR to run with a stock YZ, in my opinion the YZ is just a stronger running motor. My current set up on my 07 CR 125 is V force cage, re-worked head, some work done to the intake boot to help straighten the air flow, stock pipe, (hard to beat the stock pipe) PWK carb and the bike runs damn good, as strong or stronger then a 05 YZ I ride sometimes. I just put in a STIC metering block and the bike gained a good bit of top end and over rev but the jetting is more confused in the mid range. I had to go from a 182 main to a 198 to richen up WOT, that's how lean the STIC metering block made the bike run and it now needs some race fuel. Fixing to make a needle change in hoping to crisp n up the mid range.

I've got a PWK for that bike that I took off my 01CR before I sold it. 100 bucks and its yours, I'm tired of looking at it and spent way too much rebuilding it. Totally refurbed.

So I had some on my computer at work lol.

Originally from a 99KX125. It has a port for a TPS or powerjet that was epoxied shut by LCS racing. This is the common way to do it apparently. New bowl and all internals replaced, new choke. All kinds of parts that I spent too much on because I hated the TMX so much. Now I'd just like to see it go to someone who can use it.

I had an 01. I know those motors got better as time when on but from what I understand its the same motor. I see you are in Michigan so the jetting may be a little rich for you.
