I love the people in here saying I was a fan of reed and I am NO longer haha. Here's to Reedy staying true to his own course and beating Dunge next week. For those saying he should retire? Laughable

Chad has talked more shit in the past than probably the rest of the field combined so give up that argument. If he was in front of Dungey for position this would not be an argument. Hold him up all night, block pass, whatever, but not as a lapper. Your argument that Ryan talked shit in a interview first and started it is a joke, grow up. Do I think he should be penalized, no. But stop trying to defend his actions.
Look.....I said last night in my first post , that I thought Chad was in the wrong. I still do. BUT.....I also said I didn't blame him for holding RD up a bit because of how Ryan talked shit on him after the heat race.

The " heat race " is where it all started. Chad was fighting for his position in the heat race , which by the way , was a great one. Then Ryan gets up there and whines like a little girl......If I was Chad , I would have been bent out of shape a little too after that. Maybe hold Ryan up for a few corners or something like that....but definitely not as long as he did.

If it was a fist fight.....some dude throws the first shot....prepare to get your ass kicked. Don't start something , and then think there won't be repercussions later is what I'm getting at.

I admire the hell out of both Ryan and Chad....but let them deal with their own bullshit out on the track.

Chad apparently got his ass chapped (a triple boom-tish – figuratively, literally and onomatopoeia) from Dungey leaning on him down the start straight last week and causing that wreck... So then Dungey says what he says after the heat... And Chad's like well fuck you dude...

Thing is, right or wrong, and I doubt anyone is gonna defend Chad's actions, Dungey still hasn't learnt – because he then gets up in the PC and again starts babbling saying he doesn't know where the attitude is coming from, Chad doesn't respect him blah blah blah... well Ryan put it out there in the first place.

Don't agree with what Chad did, but I understand why he would feel like he didn't need to do him any favours... Something something racing adage don't make enemies out there...

Dungey didn't lose any points, hasn't passed Eli in a long time, struggled to pass Davi in Detroit which cost him any chance at his teammate who has cost him quite a few... I was saying people were nuts thinking Dungey loses this but if he does, it's nothing to do with anyone but him.

Here are my bullet points
* Reed blames RD for causing his first turn crash last week and subsequent pain.
* Reed expresses his feelings by MAYBE racing him a little tight in some spots last night in STL (heat race). Not dirty at all but tight
* Dungey get's a little fired up because he has no idea that he caused anything last week and doesn't know why Reed is being "immature".
* That's fine but he let that slip out in the wrong spot, during a podium interview.
* Now Reed is pissed off so he lets ET by without issue and races Dungey for a lap or 2 just fast enough to prevent him from getting by and holding him up.
* Reed may have been in 16th but he's better than a 16th place guy so please stop saying "He should be able to pass a guy in 16th".
* This is another AC Osborne situation (minus the actual contact) where neither guy could leave well enough alone and they F'd with each other enough to affect the race.

Chad was in the right.
Chad knew damn well what he was doing.

Im sorry, even with Chad being a cock block. If Ryan Dungey can't pass a 16th qualifying Chad Reed. There is a reason he only has 2-3 wins? To Eli's 8. There is a reason Dungey is slipping and its not old man Chad Reed.

The "can't pass a 16th place guy' argument is a very misleading one. Whether someone is a Chad fan or not, I think we can all agree that he doesn't have 16th place talent, speed or ability. That's where he's been ending up in the results this year but for a lap or 2, he can surely still run the pace of a top 5 guy which is plenty fast enough to block a leader for that lap or 2. It's not like a Ronnie Stewart blocked RD for 2 laps.

Reed held his line, consistent with the rule.

I don't see what he did wrong.
You poster the rule but refuse to acknowledge the part of impeding the progress of a faster rider. You can not pick out a part of a rule that fits for your arguement.

To me Reed was just racing him in the heat. I duno why Dungey was crying about that. Fuckin whiny if you ask me. So I understand what Reed wouldn't just move over for his ass in the main. I don't blame him one bit. I'd done the same thing. Yes it was fucked up kinda but oh well! Haha shut up next time or come talk to him like a man instead of whining on national tv....

Apart from Ryan's front tyre running into the back of Bogle's rear tyre (sending him left into Chad's rear) I see almost no major contact between those 2 riders (slow to 0.5). What there is probably did make Chad crash, but it's unavoidable. Looks like everyone bunching up and desperately trying to get stopped. Been there done that, as I'm sure we all have.

If you're suggesting that he did it on purpose or was somehow especially reckless, I think that's a stretch.

Things don't look like that on ground level and full speed. But regardless - based on what you know of Dungey ask yourself whether you think Ryan had ill intent and would gain much by making the rider in front of him crash, or was it just 2 riders coming together on the start? Something that happens constantly....

I havent seen the rear view again, but its far more obvious from that view, that the one you have... i agree that doesnt look much but if you see it from behind, you see the point that Dungey hits Chad and makes him turn left too early, and its 2 or 3 bumps, before Reed gets turned properly , by the time the contact with Bogle happens, its already done. I would have been pissed if i had been Reed.

First off I'd like to see the Chad Reed should've been more considerate. If the tables were turned he would've blown up. What I want people to focus on, is the way that Dungee handled himself and his post race interview. Obviously he was upset but mature. The sport needs representatives like him it seems that when champions get crowned they realize the necessity to do this for their sponsors and to better themselves.
Dungeiy is a Christian as am I and I appreciate his strength in controlling his behavior let it be a lesson to all.
I think that his knowing God is his strength and his happiness

From the AMA Rulebook:
4.17 Flags and Lights
It is the rider’s responsibility to be aware of their surroundings
at all times while on track. Safety is a main priority and the
riders must obey all official signals and directions given to
them. Any rider failing to do so may be penalized.
a. Solid Blue Flag:
1. Indicates you are about to be overtaken by faster riders.
2. When conditions allow, move out of the fast line.
3. Hold your line (don’t ride erratically) and do not impede the
faster riders progress.
4. Riders disregarding the blue flag may be black-flagged at
the discretion of Race Director.

Longtime fan of Reed, however:

1. Reed obviously and deliberately violated the rules as a payback to Dungey.

2. The Race Director, having failed spectacularly at exercising his discretion and black flagging Reed, should now issue a ruling disqualifying Reed from the race after the fact.

3. Reed should not be allowed to race Seattle an example to other riders for allowing his desire to give Dungey payback to become more important than interfering in the championship fight happening around him.

4. I believe that even if Reed had not deliberately and obviously interfered with Dungey, Tomac would have ramped it back up and kept the lead. This is completely irrelevant to what needs to be done with Reed, however.

5. Given the weak and inconsistent record of the officials in supercross in implementing the rules of the sport, I would be shocked if anything is done to Reed with regard to this incident.

Dungey didn't back off until Reed was on the ground. With a SX title in the balance I would expect no less from Dungey. Neither should Reed's response last night surprise anyone. The dude had to battle with the likes of Carmichael and Stewart to make a living in the sport.

And the "3 seconds" before that of elbows and shoulders from behind...

Like I said, see what you want, Chad did too. Between that and the interview, he decided he wasn't going to do Dungey any favours.
