The " heat race " is where it all started. Chad was fighting for his position in the heat race , which by the way , was a great one. Then Ryan gets up there and whines like a little girl......If I was Chad , I would have been bent out of shape a little too after that. Maybe hold Ryan up for a few corners or something like that....but definitely not as long as he did.
If it was a fist fight.....some dude throws the first shot....prepare to get your ass kicked. Don't start something , and then think there won't be repercussions later is what I'm getting at.
I admire the hell out of both Ryan and Chad....but let them deal with their own bullshit out on the track.
Thing is, right or wrong, and I doubt anyone is gonna defend Chad's actions, Dungey still hasn't learnt – because he then gets up in the PC and again starts babbling saying he doesn't know where the attitude is coming from, Chad doesn't respect him blah blah blah... well Ryan put it out there in the first place.
Don't agree with what Chad did, but I understand why he would feel like he didn't need to do him any favours... Something something racing adage don't make enemies out there...
Dungey didn't lose any points, hasn't passed Eli in a long time, struggled to pass Davi in Detroit which cost him any chance at his teammate who has cost him quite a few... I was saying people were nuts thinking Dungey loses this but if he does, it's nothing to do with anyone but him.
* Reed blames RD for causing his first turn crash last week and subsequent pain.
* Reed expresses his feelings by MAYBE racing him a little tight in some spots last night in STL (heat race). Not dirty at all but tight
* Dungey get's a little fired up because he has no idea that he caused anything last week and doesn't know why Reed is being "immature".
* That's fine but he let that slip out in the wrong spot, during a podium interview.
* Now Reed is pissed off so he lets ET by without issue and races Dungey for a lap or 2 just fast enough to prevent him from getting by and holding him up.
* Reed may have been in 16th but he's better than a 16th place guy so please stop saying "He should be able to pass a guy in 16th".
* This is another AC Osborne situation (minus the actual contact) where neither guy could leave well enough alone and they F'd with each other enough to affect the race.

Chad knew damn well what he was doing.
Im sorry, even with Chad being a cock block. If Ryan Dungey can't pass a 16th qualifying Chad Reed. There is a reason he only has 2-3 wins? To Eli's 8. There is a reason Dungey is slipping and its not old man Chad Reed.

Dungeiy is a Christian as am I and I appreciate his strength in controlling his behavior let it be a lesson to all.
I think that his knowing God is his strength and his happiness
4.17 Flags and Lights
It is the rider’s responsibility to be aware of their surroundings
at all times while on track. Safety is a main priority and the
riders must obey all official signals and directions given to
them. Any rider failing to do so may be penalized.
a. Solid Blue Flag:
1. Indicates you are about to be overtaken by faster riders.
2. When conditions allow, move out of the fast line.
3. Hold your line (don’t ride erratically) and do not impede the
faster riders progress.
4. Riders disregarding the blue flag may be black-flagged at
the discretion of Race Director.
Longtime fan of Reed, however:
1. Reed obviously and deliberately violated the rules as a payback to Dungey.
2. The Race Director, having failed spectacularly at exercising his discretion and black flagging Reed, should now issue a ruling disqualifying Reed from the race after the fact.
3. Reed should not be allowed to race Seattle an example to other riders for allowing his desire to give Dungey payback to become more important than interfering in the championship fight happening around him.
4. I believe that even if Reed had not deliberately and obviously interfered with Dungey, Tomac would have ramped it back up and kept the lead. This is completely irrelevant to what needs to be done with Reed, however.
5. Given the weak and inconsistent record of the officials in supercross in implementing the rules of the sport, I would be shocked if anything is done to Reed with regard to this incident.
Mreh, see what you want, that's what quite literally chapped Chad's ass, add the heat race comments, and there you have it.
Reed didn't surprise me. It was a dick move on Reeds part. Dick move on AMA as well.
Like I said, see what you want, Chad did too. Between that and the interview, he decided he wasn't going to do Dungey any favours.
