Got a twinair filter. Looks like I need a longer filter bolt to make it work with the rubber hole gasket. I really dont want to run it without. Anyone know of a year with a longer one that will work?
I've got the twin air filter as well and the bolt fits fine. I even have a PC Racing filter gasket which lifts the filter even more. You should be fine with the oem bolt, just gotta push on the bolt to catch the threads.

Yeah. I've been running the twin air since I got my 17 and you can use the oem bolt no problem. The longer bolt is easier to catch the threads. But not impossible as I have had no issues!

Yep. I design all my graphics and have a guy print them for me. I wanted a clean, minimalist look that has a bit of the factory bike feel. When red number plate are available i'll be replacing my white ones and black wheels are on the way as well.

Almost finished mine, just lacing the rear wheel and waiting for an aftermarket clutch perch.

Great bike overall

still miss riding my cr250 though, the -17 is so easy to ride that you miss having to perfectly execute every turn in order for you to maintain your speed.

Hi, new member here.
I stumbled across this forum while searching
Around for all the info I can find on the new 450. I don't belive everything I read lol but this auto decomp issue has poped up on one of the magazine tests where they said two bikes broke. I'm a little concerned . I am waiting on the next shipment as there are none available at present only the rx.
What led to this on yours ,and in particular how were you kicking it when it happen ? I spoke to a Honda dealer last week about it really just to get an idea on how good Honda are at looking after a customer if something like this occurred despite a 30 day parts only warranty. I was reassured that if it's a known problem and does not necessarily have to be a recall they are very good . Still a concern non the less . You said you work in a Honda dealer , Im sure everyone in this thread would like to no how this goes so please keep us posted. I have to wait a while yet to ride red again , April ! But I no after many bikes and many years it will suit what I like I just can see myself maybe cracking at the last week lol.

Haha Laughing No, E-start!

Read through a few pages of this thread and you'll find out that there is a batch of Hondas that crack the case when you kickstart it. People say that it's only on the pre production models but i don't know about that.

But the chance of you having a bad sample is probably very low, so i wouldn't worry. And if it happens i'm sure that your Honda dealer will fix it for you!

I first wanna say this is a great bike! And the case breaking does not change my mind, I had just did a 20 minute moto and stopped to speak to a friend of mine on the track, I found the Honda to be a little difficult to start when it's hot and slow steady kicks make it light up easy, I gave it one slow kick and the bike didn't start, second slow kick it backfired kicked back and cracked the case

I spoke with American Honda and they were very helpfull and asked a bunch of questions, and being American Honda they took care of everything for me, that alone says everything about the company, I'm sending them my cracked case and I'm just waiting on a gasket kit to rebuild the motor

I really don't know how to avoid this from happening again and as far as getting an electric start, I really don't think I want one, I have faith that Honda will fix the problem
