He was on mine as well because I tend to pick with my heart... but he crashed in his heat and to me looked like he was favoring his clutch hand. Just what I thought I saw on tv, but I was drinking.
Crashed out of his heat race I believe it was. Crash looked awkward how it happened and he landed with the bike on its side. Thinking he banged up his hand
He was riding pretty well until that crash. Probably would have lost a position in the next lap but he wasn't far behined Tomac and Anderson with a lap or so to go.
I've noticed that seemingly every time he's ridden hard and tried to mix it up with the top guys, he's crashed hard. He has probably noticed it to.
I always wished he would practice with more intensity and maybe train with other guys to get used to it when the actual race happens. We all know he's one of the most talented guys out there.
I've seen him practice a few times at his private track, there's not a whole lot of intensity in his practice routine and he usually prefers to ride alone with the exception of occasionally having Paul Coates there but with a decent gap in between them as if they were running separate motos. He recently spent a big chunk of change and built a house and has said he's racing for another year or so solely to bank as much money as possible before retiring or trying endurocross.
Hard to imagine him on Dungey's level these days.
Used to love watching him race in the 250s. His championship battles with Dungey and Canard were awesome.
More swear words left my mouth than I care to admit, and I aint proud of it.
My wife told me to calm down and that he can get up and qualify out of the semi & LCQ, but I knew better. The second frenchie hit the dirt last night I KNEW he was done...never ceases to amaze me how he can throw in the towel so quickly and often.
i would not be surprised if he has something broken in his hard, his glove was still under the handlebar, so I am presuming that a hand might have been injured in this,
It happened in the slick corner right in front of me, he ripped his hand out in a pretty frustrated way and his bike was caught wide open for a pretty long time on its side. He was hauling good before that, bummer to see that happen to him.
"Not a great start to the season for Christophe Pourcel. After failing to qualify for the main event last week in Anaheim, the Frenchman dealt with the flu all week leading into San Diego. He was running third in his heat but ended up crashing all by himself. Afterward team owner Bobby Hewitt told us about Pourcel’s illness and said he went to the Alpinestars Mobile Medical Unit for an IV, which, in accordance with the AMA rulebook, disqualified him from any further competition for the rest of the night."
CP has had some rotten luck lately. Looked like he was going pretty good ... especially if weakened from flu.
