This right here...there isn't one shred of evidence that he has been preparing for 2017 Supercross. Guess what, the 20 guys that made the main last night have been busting their asses since the last gate drop last year. How does he expect to be even remotely competitive if he hasn't been trying HARD? I guess what I don't understand is, what does expect to prove? That he can still qualify? IMO he'll be lucky to be a consistent top ten guy? Will that make a past SUPERSTAR/CHAMP happy? Regardless I do enjoy watching him ride and seeing the INSANE things he does on a bike, but I'd much rather see him be REAL about what he expects. He will not win a race this year. Most likely never again. If he podiums again I would be surprised. James please make yourself HAPPY, because in all actuality not one single opinion of OURS matters.

If he didn't have incentive to come back from his suspension in the best shape of his career, I'm not really seeing the motivation to be in shape this time, especially since there have been no videos or interviews about his riding/training except the clip about 3-4 weeks ago with him and his brother on a yamaha. I hope I'm wrong, it's great seeing him bust out combos no one else is doing but not seeing it

My only fear is the fear that comes with seeing your favorite pro athlete come back after many successive concussions and injuries...when the odds are against them, and the knowledge that one more time might be the last. I'm a fan, but I'm also a fan of guys being great husbands and fathers and living their lives knowing they did the best they could do...and having life go on.

I want to see James race...but I damn sure don't want him to go out on a backboard just to satisfy his ego & my desire to see him perform again. I sure hope he doesn't sit his ass on the bike seat unless he's 100% ready to go.

The fair weather fans, or the fans of “early James” really baffle me. Yeah his cryptic tweets and drama surrounding him and his family get irritating and old, but to deny what this man has done for our sport and basically shit on everything he has accomplished because of the last few years is bullshit, imo. The man is a legend and deserves respect.

He is at least coming back for one more try, and to me that’s all I can ask. At this point I just want to see him get some consistent results, possibly a podium and MAYBE one more win. I don’t think anyone, including himself, is expecting a championship. I for one am super pumped and will be cheering him on when he lines up. Go Bubba!

So assuming he will be on Suzuki's then? Makes sense I guess based off his IG post (Suz in the backgroud) and probably has plenty of parts laying around.

Really was hoping he would go Honda.

No feathers ruffled whatsoever. How am I "defending" him? You said he wouldn't be a top 10 guy which is just bogus IMO, so I disagree. Josh Grant finished inside the top 10 at A1. I don't care how bad last year was for the #7, he still has Grant covered. Your post didn't say anything about him dragging the fans along.

Like I posted in the Stewart brothers post...James seems to have a strong preference to Suzuki, and has for a long time. It's possible that he didn't burn the bridge with Yoshimura Suzuki that many here have said he did after last season. Maybe they have found a way to help them out.

Was my thinking as well. He seems to be comfortable on the Suzuki so would make the most sense.

Agreed. I almost went there, however the "gift of pause" kicked in, and stopped a stupid political rant.
