Trying to speak with my wallet

Pretty aggravated today. Finally sold all the 4strokes in my household and I'm trying to pick up another '17 KTM 150SX for my son. The local dealer that I usually ride for is completely sold out of 2stroke 17 models already. While calling around to other shops trying to find a bike for my son, Not a single dealer was willing to match the price I paid on my daughter's '17 150sx I bought a few months ago, in fact nobody would budge off full retail plus tax/title/freight even for a cash buyer. They would however, give me heavy discounts and sell me a 4stroke model cheaper than what I paid for the first 150sx I already bought. Four dealers so far. Anybody on here work for a KTM or Husky dealer and want to move some 2stroke inventory?

Dont know if you want to go as far as Texas, DFW area, but my buddy Jeff Long at Lonestar Yamaha/ Husky can most likely get it done for you. Hard bike to find though. Good luck!

If the price is right and the dealer is willing to ship I don't care where the bike comes from. Four dealers within a 2hr drive of me have a bike in stock, just none of them are willing to budge off full retail plus $1000 freight and tax/title. If the dealer that I normally do business with can sell me a bike under 7k OTD then I would think another shop would as well, just to move some inventory, especially when I have cash in hand

Except for the dealer you normally deal with knows you and he knows you are going to buy parts, other bikes etc. from him so he's ok with not making much profit on the bike. Those other dealers that are further away know you aren't likely to be shopping with them on a regular basis so they need to make their profit on the bike sale.

Like sands through an hourglass, these are the days of the table turning.

Capitalism in its truest form, in this case, demand out paces supply=no deal. With the 4T's, supply exceeds demand=deal.

I wonder if the 4 stroke only companies read this stuff. Something official has got to give if the big manufacturers besides KTM/Husky are actually doing market research. By simply announcing 2018 2 stroke models asap it would lead to more new sales once the bikes are available. My local KTM/husky dealer is considering Beta just to get more 2 strokes to sell. Good luck Kaboom

Maybe try targeting larger dealers who make money on volume. Especially ones where you can avoid sales tax because your are from out of their state.
