To hard to call right now. I do think the only thing that held Roczen back last year was his starts. The new Honda should be a hole shot machine.
Dungey killed the starts last year. If he does the same this year we should see the points lead go back and fourth a couple times between him and Roczen.

I know it's super premature to even speculate on who the 2017 SX Champion will be when the checkered flag waves in Las Vegas (or before)...but it's off season, and we have plenty of threads about what graphics & plastics to use, so...why not? Who do you think will do the deed? Who won't? And...why?

Dungey?
Roczen?
Tomac?
Anderson?
Musquin?
Stewart?**
Reed?
Canard?
Grant?

Do you actually believe Dean Wilson is a title contender?

No. I also don't think Anderson, Grant or Musquin are either.

I really think musquin can be a spoiler here. He will win races for sure and even be a title contender. But my money is on roczen for the championship.

I want to focus on what will surprise me!

If Roczen wins or crashes out Im not surprised.
If Dungey wins through consistency I'm not surprised.

I'm intersted in Tomac, Anderson and Moose can. I think it would be great if Marvin won it all.

I totally agree with this. I would add I would be surprised if anyone won more than 5 races this year. I just think if (and its a big if) most of the contenders stay healthy its going to be hard for someone to get on a roll like in the past.

Dungey is the man to beat as usual. Consistency is the key.

more than likely Dungey wins with about 15 podiums.................if however Kroc can stay off the ground and match that it could be fight down to the wire...............spoilers for sure in about 5 or 6 guys that realistically can and may win races, but championship comes down to KTM or Honda back to the old days of buying #1 plates!!! Cool Cool

Kenny is my pick to win it all.

The Dunge will no doubt be there.

Moosecan will win one

Anderson to win one but have shitty starts, will be punting bros left and right while quading through the pack

Barcia will hit the rev limiter

Webb will show flashes of brilliance but I think the Yamaha will not allow him to show his full potential

Canard will scrub everything

Seely will get punted by Anderson

Someone is going to say Pourcel is sneaky fast

That Pourcel guy is "sneaky fast". Gonna have to watch out for him.Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Sorry Bob, I had to take the bait for your sake.

You're right. My bad. I guess I should have said my list was guys who had a shot at winning races...not necessarily a championship. I believe all those guys can...and might even win an overall or two, including James Stewart. I do not, however, believe Wilson should be a part of that list, even as a possible spoiler.

Wilson has won heat races. Definitely should be on the list.

I think Wilson is much more of a contender than Grant.. how did Grant even get brought up? Top 5 at best.

I also think we still have yet to see the best of Eli in Supercross, he's definitely faster than Roczen and Dungey on most nights just has to figure out his starts and limit the mistakes. Big if right there.

I do think Dungey will be extremely tough to beat over 17 rounds because even if Roczen or Tomac win you know Dungey will be right behind them just getting points. There will also be nights when Dungey is just on and those are the nights I think Tomac really needs to work on, he can't get a 7th if he has any hope of winning this title. Same thing goes for all the guys I just think Tomac is definitely more prone to mistakes than Roczen or Dungey. It'll be an interesting year if all guys are feeling good and don't get hurt, usually doesn't work out that way, though.
