Vital's Take: It's always interesting to get an opinion on an incident from a rider that's been there and done it at the top level. Giving us a better idea of the mentality of the first few laps and how you approach it.
David Vuillemin: My view on it... You shouldn't square a bowl turn like than while in traffic 2 laps in the race. When I walked the track in the morning, I specifically told Maxime not to do that while in traffic cuz this JS/Rd thing would happen... Obviously RD didn't want t-bone the shit out of JS but he was very surprised of JS's line and couldn't go anywhere when he saw him square off that much.

Not sure who DV is Referring to ? Dungey or Stewart squaring off ? Because Dooshdey is more squared up than anyone. Is he trying to lay blame on Stewart ?

Dungey is half through the turn and still facing the wrong direction...get real David!

Watch it again. Dungey comes up short and gets a bounce which is why it took him so long to turn and looks like he's running it in deep. That combined with James cutting down early equals a racing incident.

DV has always been jealous of Stewart, his speed and his popularity. Has always been critical of JS every time he opens his mouth. His opinion is worthless.

On top of that Dungey took the EXACT same line as Stewart in the EXACT same corner - on the first lap of the restart, cutting down on Tomac.

I have to say its obvious that this was Dungeys fault. If you T Boned in any other motorsport you would get disqualified.

Dungey came up short on the jump leading into the corner. This gave him a bounce and prevented him from cutting under on the inside. Combine that with James squaring up the corner and you have them coming together. No one's fault. Racing incident..

I agree with DV and RC, it was a bonehead move. ANYBODY who's done any amount of serious racing knows this. That's the sort of move you'd do 8 laps in when the two of you are fighting for the lead and third place is 6 seconds back and you haven't got into lappers yet.

Apparently JS7 has been riding all alone on his Neverland ranch far too long.

Goes both ways, Dungey shouldn't be making straight lines of turns within the first two laps either.

I'll tell you another thing, I think he saw what was coming. There's a slight hesitation as he finishes his apex and then his right leg comes up off the peg. I think he saw RD in his peripheral vision and thought "whoa", but then thought "screw it, I'm going for it".

If that's not it, then he must have been riding over his head and out of control, like you're saying RD was.

Tell me this, where was Dungey planing on making his turn? Was Dungey in control? As far as the Stewart is concerned he was racing his on race and finding speed to keep up with Anderson...maybe he knew he couldn't afford to wait till lap 8 or 9 to make a move on Anderson....and trust me I'm very confident in my knowledge of racing as well as my "experience"

Come on "bish", what, you got a couple thousand hours playing Mad skills MX?

RD freak'n wheel tapped the last whoop so he'd load the front end for some serious braking and square the corner at the apex. If JS hadn't squared off so early RD would have made his pivot right behind him as he came off the berm.

Whether JS7 was wrong to square it off or not, Dungy tripled right into the inside of the corner. Where was he planning to stop? When his rear tire hit the jump it kicked right and pretty much took away any control he was going to have to stop quick or avoid anybody in that corner. I bet he would have hit JS7 even if he didn't square it off.

No doubt in racing terms, Stewart owns the track ahead of Dungey. its up to Dungey to feel the competition out before making a pass. In a race, you are always finding faster lines. I applaud Stewart for pushing the Suzuki's turning prowess instead of following, this is part of racing motocross. Dungey did loose control on the whoop section, so as it goes, a little out of control which is expected in SX.

Whatever, he got side ways a little over the last little obstacle. i'm not much into technical mumbo. I used to host the Silver Bullit SX series in the eighties. so have built plenty of tracks. I currently promote the Cats Classic AMA Pro Am in Colorado, so know a little about racing.

Yes, because nobody else can have an opinion. They are surely correct about Bubba, but at the same time maybe Dungey shouldn't have dived in there either. He would have centerpunched anybody on the outside, too, or at least cleaned them out.
