Not 100% sure if the pieces are linked, but I was scanning through some Mini O's results last night and noticed two kids DQ'd out of 450A (#222 Alves and 117 Zambrano) and got curious as to why. Soon afterwards on facebook, I came across this post (from a photographer who is there).

Anybody else have more info? A later comment on the post says something to the effect of 222 should be gone, so that might be what happened.

I'm going to watch the SX finals tomorrow, hopefully I won't get hit by an un-manned motorcycle

He's been racing a lot from Loretta's, Vurb Cup, KROC...he's been at most of the big events lately. I've seen his name several times over the last couple years.

I don't care how fast my kid was and/or what prospects they have-if they ghost ride the bike into a crowd (or any person) their bikes and gear would be locked up for quite some time, if not sold outright. Stuffing people on the track is one thing-sending your bike into defenseless people with no gear is another.

100% with you on that. No telling what this kid was thinking.

Another comment on the Facebook post I screenshotted earlier said they were both given a DQ for SX only, and that 117 took Alves out, causing Alves to wait for a lap, punt the kid over a berm, then ghost ride his bike into the crowd. Seems like the B class has gotten in on the action too.

Apparently Alves went up to the line in another moto today, but was turned away.

The age where parents give their children a sense of entitlement. You get results like this.

Is beating the shit out of someone in the pits still frowned upon?

Waiting for someone to come around the track to take them out or get some other form of payback is nothing new. Ghost riding your bike into a crowd of people... that is disgusting.

Damn, that's a shame. I've been rooting for Alves ever since I saw that scrub video and after I'd gotten a few shots of him at Junior Moto X this year that he posted to his Instagram. Maybe he knew someone in the crowd getting picked on/beaten up etc. and emotions got the best of him.

Maybe it has to do with the mentality lately it's okay to stuff block pass someone and these take out moves and the people who just shrug and say that's racing.

What the hell are you serious? People like that should be banned from moto indefinitely. Maybe sent to jail for murder. Holy shit.

I'm going with, "these events are so hyped up that the kids over react to both winning, broken bikes and take outs, both giving and taking. So they freak out over a bad result, thinking that the week is now wasted cause they have no chance of podium, factory ride and millions...."

Oh and lastly......they are kids, doing dumb stuff....launching bikes isn't anything new, although into a crowd may be a new twistSmile

I believe so. I remember an AX race in WA in the mid-90's where one intermediate stuffed another. The dad of the stuffed threw dirt on the stuffer the next lap. Then both dads ended up on the ground beating the tar out of each other. The ironic part was when the flag fell and both riders rolled past the melee, they both looked like "WTF?" The riders were already over it but both dads were duking it out...

The first one died from hitting his head on the pavement during the fight. He was evidently on blood thinners. The second one died a few months later and I'm not positive the exact cause of death.
There is a ton more to the story than what is being posted here or ever was. These are all local people I know and happened very close to where we were pitted that night. In the end it was a very sad situation...........
